Fantasy Premier League Rankings: Top Midfielders

We're now less than a week away from kickoff to the 2015/16 Premier League season, which means it's time we start finalizing the rosters we'll be using in season-long games. We've already discussed some strategies for draft formats, while also hitting on auctions. These rankings reflect our writers' opinions on season-long salary cap formats, such as the Premier League's official game and ESPN's Premier Fantasy, though they can also be used as cheatsheets for draft or auction leagues (just note that the rankings were based on the official FPL scoring, so if your league has a different points setup, please feel free to leave a question below and we'll be sure to get back to you quickly).

We kicked off with the goalkeepers and defenders, and now we focus on the players moving the ball forward and toward the goal. Points were assigned to each player based on their ranking by each contributor: 50 points for a first place vote, 49 points for a second place vote, 48 points for a third place vote and so on.

The three highest scoring midfielders in the official fantasy Premier League game last season were Eden Hazard (233 points), Alexis Sanchez (207) and David Silva (191). All were in our top-7 in last year's midfielder rankings and were expected near the top.

However, the top-15 from last season had some surprise names, such as Nacer Chadli (eighth highest scorer with 160 points), Gylfi Sigurdsson (10th, 154), Sadio Mane (12th, 137) and Yannick Bolasie (15th, 132), so don't focus exclusively on the top players; there's plenty of production further down the list.
