Last week we compared ADPs from the Sleeper app to those from high-stakes and best-ball leagues to identify undervalued players on Sleeper. Now it's time for the same exercise, but with Yahoo, comparing fantasy football ADPs from the popular redraft platform against numbers from NFC (high stakes) and Underdog (best ball).
We'll stick to analyzing the first 10 rounds or so, because the differences between formats — and the reality that many people over-draft kickers and D/STs on Yahoo — explains a lot of the discrepancies in fantasy football ADP rankings once we get to the late rounds. Also note that drafts on Yahoo have the players listed in order of Y's expert rankings, not ADP, although the former will always influence the latter to some extent.
At the bottom of the page, you'll find a chart with ADP data from Yahoo, Underdog, NFC, ESPN and Sleeper (as of August 7), plus two columns comparing Yahoo's numbers to the averages from Underdog and NFC.
All the numbers below are from PPR or half-PPR leagues that start one QB; the data doesn't include superflex, dynasty, two-QB, etc. If you want to see that stuff, RotoWire has an ADP page that shows data from a variety of league types, including two-QB dynasty. But none of that below. For Yahoo and Underdog, we're looking at half-PPR numbers. For NFFC, it's full PPR.
Top ADP Values on Yahoo
There's a clear positional trend, with most QBs and TEs going a round or three earlier on Yahoo (compared to their ADPs on NFC and Underdog) while WRs largely go later. RBs are more of a mixed bag, with Derrick Henry, Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor going much earlier on Yahoo than on Underdog (both half-PPR scoring), whereas De'Von Achane, Chase Brown, Breece Hall and Omarion Hampton have earlier ADPs on UD.
For quarterbacks and tight ends, there are a few whose ADPs are only slightly inflated on Yahoo, making them better values relative to the highly inflated masses at their position. That list of good(ish) values includes QBs Kyler Murray, Caleb Williams, Dak Prescott and Drake Maye, along with TEs Brock Bowers, Trey McBride and Tyler Warren. I'm not sure why the two Alpha-tier TEs are the relative values while the second/third/fourth-tier guys are all inflated relative to other platforms, but that does make me more interested in elite-TE builds, especially given the ease of finding value at RB and WR in the mid/late rounds of most Yahoo drafts.
QB Caleb Williams (Yahoo ADP 115.3 / NFC/UD ADP 109.5)
Williams is one of the few QBs whose ADP on Yahoo is later than in high-stakes and best-ball contests. That's also true on ESPN and Sleeper, although QB inflation in general isn't quite as bad on those sites, at least relative to Yahoo. In Yahoo drafts that follow ADP fairly closely, the value lies with premium TEs, not premium QBs. Pairing Williams with another breakout candidate — like Drake Maye or Trevor Lawrence — should work just fine, especially when we have an elite TE and a standout WR group.
RB De'Von Achane (Y 16.5 / NU 13.1)
I'm a little surprised to see that Achane sometimes lasts until mid-R2 on Yahoo, considering he's a big-name RB coming off a big fantasy season. The top values on Yahoo and ESPN are usually wide receivers and/or unproven young players. That said, Achane's ESPN ADP is actually closer to where I have him (15th) in RotoWire's Top 150 Roundtable Rankings, which assume full PPR. I think this is one where the high-stakes and best-ball guys are in the wrong, often drafting Achane at the 1/2 turn over WRs like Brian Thomas and Amon-Ra St. Brown. (I may also move Achane down a spot or two now that his goal-line role has become a topic of public discussion... and not in a good way, seemingly.)
no controversy here as Tyreek's assertion that Wright should play more over Achane in short yardage situations is somewhat correct, per coach Mike McDaniel https://t.co/NsEImK75fF

RB Omarion Hampton (Y 45.6 / NU 35.2)
This may just be a case of Yahoo's ADP-calculation methodology not accounting for Hampton's recent rise at the expense of Najee Harris, who remains on the non-football injury list after three weeks of Chargers training camp. Initial efforts to downplay Harris' eye injury are no longer inspiring any confidence, and the unusual nature of the situation leads to questions about whether he'll be ready anytime soon. Given that context, Hampton is a strong fourth-round pick and an acceptable third-round selection.
RB TreVeyon Henderson (Y 79.5 / NU 59.2)
This price looked like a steal even before the glowing reports on Henderson coming out of Patriots training camp. Teammates are hyping the rookie up, and beat reporters aren't far behind. At this rate, Henderson may be pushing for a fourth-round ADP by the end of August. For now, he's going around the 5/6 turn a lot of places and closer to the seventh round on Yahoo.
WR Xavier Worthy (Y 65.3 / NU 42.5)
Worthy's ADP has been on a see-saw with Rashee Rice's ADP all offseason (a.k.a., the movements show a strong inverse correlation). On Yahoo, it seems drafters are hesitant about both Kansas City wide receivers, which is at odds with the top-60 ADP for Patrick Mahomes.
WR Tetairoa McMillan (Y 82.8 / NU 46.5)
It's standard for rookie WRs to be drafted a few rounds earlier in best-ball and high-stakes drafts, compared to where they go on Yahoo, ESPN, etc. But this is an extreme case, and one that also applies on Sleeper/ESPN, where McMillan similarly goes much later than he should. I'm siding with the high-stakes guys on this one, although there's obviously risk involved when dealing with McMillan's dependence on QB Bryce Young to be competent. There's upside for a 90-catch season, and perhaps even more, if Young is merely OK.

Other Good Values 👍
QB Dak Prescott (Y 105.2 / NU 101.9)
RB Travis Etienne (Y 110.7 / NU 96.3)
RB J.K. Dobbins (Y 117.1 / NU 104.6)
WR Malik Nabers (Y 13.8 / NU 9.1)
WR Drake London (Y 21.3 / NU 15.5)
WR Tyreek Hill (Y 34.3 / NU 25.8)
WR Garrett Wilson (Y 38.6 / NU 27.3)
WR Marvin Harrison (Y 43.4 / NU 31.1)
WR Rashee Rice (Y 57.6 / NU 38.8)
WR Jaylen Waddle (Y 80.1 / NU 57.0)
WR Rome Odunze (Y 91.3 / NU 62.9)
TE Tyler Warren (Y 121.2 / NU 116.0)
If there's one thing that's consistent — both from year-to-year and platform-to-platform — when comparing ADPs on Yahoo/ESPN/Sleeper/NFL those from high-stakes contests or best ball, it's that WRs tend to come off the board much earlier for the latter.

Worst Values / Frequent Reaches 👎
QB Patrick Mahomes (Y 51.6 / NU 75.8)
QB Baker Mayfield (Y 57.4 / NU 86.5)
RB Saquon Barkley (Y 2.4 / NU 4.8)
RB Derrick Henry (Y 8.1 / NU 13.9)
RB David Montgomery (Y 51.1 / NU 69.3)
WR Mike Evans (Y 36.8 / NU 38.4)
TE Sam LaPorta (Y 48.6 / NU 69.8)
TE T.J. Hockenson (Y 59.4 / NU 83.2)
TE Travis Kelce (Y 62.7 / NU 90.1)
TE Mark Andrews (Y 63.5 / NU 98.3)
There will always be some draft rooms where the ADP and/or default ranks don't matter at all, but the possibility/likelihood that they have at least some influence points me toward the two extremes of TE strategy — either drafting Bowers/McBride or waiting until the double-digit rounds to take two.
