2025 Fantasy Outlook
After two quiet seasons to start his career, Johnson exploded onto the scene in Year 3. Over the last two seasons, Johnson averaged 17.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.9 blocks while posting 51/34/74 shooting splits. From a per-game perspective, Johnson was a top-20 player in eight-category leagues last season as a 22-year-old. The sky is the limit for this versatile youngster, but there's one glaring hole in his fantasy profile: health. Johnson was injured during his lone season at Duke, made only 22 appearances as a rookie and has appeared in 92 regular-season games over the past two years. His most recent injury, a torn labrum in his left shoulder, required surgery in January, but he's expected to be at full strength for training camp. Before the injury, Johnson and Trae Young were operating a beautiful two-man game that was nearly impossible for opposing defenses to stop consistently. That should get only better in 2025-26, as Atlanta loaded up on shooters, bringing in Kristaps Porzingis, Luke Kennard and Nickeil Alexander-Walker while losing Clint Capela, Caris LeVert and Georges Niang. The Hawks will also be looking for internal development from Johnson, Zaccharie Risacher, Dyson Daniels and Onyeka Okongwu. You'll be assuming significant risk when selecting Johnson at his ADP, as his highest finish in eight-category leagues in 96th, but his first-round upside could make him the steal of the draft if he submits a career high in appearances. Posts triple-double in win
Johnson chipped in 29 points (9-18 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 8-12 FT), 12 rebounds, 12 assists and two steals over 39 minutes during Friday's 130-123 win over the Cavaliers.
ANALYSIS
Johnson recorded his second triple-double of the season, and the star forward continues to thrive both as a scorer and playmaker. He bounced back from the seven-point, seven-rebound, seven-assist performance in the loss to Washington on Tuesday, and he also kept his streak alive of consecutive games with at least seven assists. That streak is up to 10 outings, the longest active streak in the NBA and the longest by a forward since LeBron James did something similar between January and February earlier this year.

2023
After two quiet seasons to begin his NBA career, Johnson burst onto the scene in 2023-24, averaging 16.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.9 blocks and 1.3 made three-pointers in 33.7 minutes per game. He was also efficient for a 22-year-old, posting 51.1/35.5/72.8 shooting splits. However, the 2021 No. 20 overall pick struggled to stay on the court, missing a 14-game stretch to end the 2023 calendar year due to a wrist injury before sitting out 13 of Atlanta's final 21 games because of an ankle sprain. Health will be Johnson's biggest concern heading into 2024-25, but there's also a litany of wings who need playing time, including No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher and 2019 No. 4 overall pick De'Andre Hunter. On the flip side, Atlanta moved on from a high-usage player in Dejounte Murray this offseason, sending him to New Orleans in exchange for Dyson Daniels, Larry Nance and two future first-round picks. Johnson figures to have a starting spot secured to start 2024-25, but if he misses extended time due to an injury again, he may fall down the pecking order fast. Johnson wasn't elite in any single category during his breakout campaign, and due to missed games, he finished 96th in eight-category leagues. However, the 6-foot-8 forward is solid in every category and could flirt with first-round value if he stays healthy all season.
