Embiid-less 76ers Thump Heat, 119-96
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Miami Heat, 119-96, at Miami-Dade Arena on Wednesday night.

The Heat (33-30) had edged the 76ers (40-21) at Wells Fargo Center on Monday night, and early in Wednesday's contest, they appeared to be on the way to an even bigger success, especially with Joel Embiid out due to foot soreness. However, Miami's four-point edge after one quarter quickly evaporated and then some courtesy of Philadelphia's 37-15 advantage in the second. The 18-point lead that sent the visitors into halftime proved to be more than enough cushion, but the Sixers ultimately added to it and finished with a 23-point margin of victory.

Tyrese Maxey led the 76ers with 27 points, adding seven assists, four rebounds and one steal. James Harden delivered 23 points, seven boards, five assists and one block. Tobias Harris supplied 18 points, six rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block. Paul Reed generated a 16-point, 14-rebound double-double that included two blocks. Shake Milton poured in 12 points.

Bam Adebayo paced the Heat with 20 points, complementing with eight rebounds, two assists and one steal. Jimmy Butler registered 16 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Max Strus offered 13 points, five boards and two assists. Tyler Herro managed 11 points, six assists and one rebound.

The 76ers remain on the road and visit the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night, while the Heat remains home and hosts the New York Knicks on Friday night.
