MATCHES (EST)
- 1:00 pm: Arsenal vs. Southampton

FORWARDS
Jamie Vardy, LEI v. EVE (£25): Harry Kane (£30) and Mohamed Salah (£30) are the chalk plays with both players being in the top five for points scored. They'll play each other with the top of the table up for grabs. While neither Kane nor Salah is a bad option, I'm going with the player who has the best goal-scoring odds on the slate. Vardy is tied for second in Premier League goals with Salah and Son Heung-Min (£24), who are one goal behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£27). Vardy has also scored at least 9.85 points in six of his past seven matches and offers enough cost savings where you could add Son and not be forced to a minimum price later in your lineup build.
Danny Ings, SOU at ARS (£22): If you're looking for a cost effective consistent striker, look no further than Ings, who scored double-digit fantasy points in seven of nine appearances. He's had at least two shots on goal in five matches, and those attempts have led to six goals in nine games, as well as three assists. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£27) is the most expensive option for Arsenal, but he's returned two goals and one assist this season, making him an option worth looking over, especially at that price. Richarlison (£21) is another option in this price range who has been a great source of shots with 14 over his past five matches.
Raphinha, LEE v. NEW (£15): While Patrick Bamford (£27) has the third-best scoring odds and is a great option against a Newcastle side that has conceded the most shots and third-most shots on goal of the 12 teams on Tuesday's slate, he's not super cost effective. Raphinha has started the four matches and taken 10 shots, including three on target, and scored one goal. Another bargain option is Ivan Cavaleiro (£12) who has also started the past four and taken 10 shots, including eight on target. He also took all of Fulham's set pieces last match and is a steal at this price.
MIDFIELDERS
James Maddison, LEI v. EVE (£20): Despite coming off two goals and five shots (three on target) against Brighton, Maddison's price went down slightly. The matchup against Everton is slightly more difficult but not enough to warrant a price decrease. After a slow start to the season, Maddison has been much more productive, scoring at least 6.75 points over his past four matches. James Rodriguez (£26) has already been ruled out and realistically leaves James Ward-Prowse and Maddison as the top two midfielders Wednesday. Eberechi Eze (£20) has settled in for Crystal Palace and is worth a shout at this price range too. Gylfi Sigurdsson (£19) should benefit from James' absence with another start and should keep him on set pieces.
Pascal Gross, BRI at FUL (£16): Gross has had a season in a similar mold to Maddison: start slowly and gain steam over the most recent matches. He and Solomon March (£13) have shared set-piece duties but when March is out of the starting XI, Gross has taken everything. Tom Cairney (£17) hasn't started a match for Fulham since late November, making Bobby Decordova-Reid Fulham's best midfielder.
Curtis Jones, LIV v. TOT (£16): While many clubs deal with injuries in a condensed season, Liverpool's midfield has been especially hard hit, which has opened up a ton of playing time for Jones. He's been consistent when starting, scoring at least five points in six of his past seven starts. With a number of Liverpool's midfielders still sidelined, Jones looks primed for another start. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (£15) has been at the top of his game this season and is as consistent as Jones. Both players are unlikely goal scorers but will offer some stability.
DEFENDERS
Gabriel, ARS v. SOU (£20): On a slate with three defenders prices at £20, Gabriel is the most consistent. Despite Arsenal's recent failings, Gabriel has scored at least 6.05 points in each of his past eight matches. Jan Bednarek (£21) is the most expensive defender and has been a solid fantasy asset based on Southampton's ability to keep clean sheets. Jannik Vestergaard (£20) is another pricey player who's scored three goals, helping him finish in double digits in five of 11 appearances.
Aaron Cresswell, WHU v. CRY (£14): Cresswell leads the Premier League in accurate crosses and is tied for fourth in assists. Additionally, West Ham have the second-best clean-sheet odds and have the third-highest win odds. The number of defenders priced like midfielders props up Cresswell's value even more, and he would be one of the first players in my starting XI.
Tariq Lamptey, BRI at FUL (£13): As far as bargain defenders go, Lamptey is the most likely to be involved in the attack and is at his cheapest price in three matches. Although Fulham have been much better lately, the value Lamptey provides with corners won and accurate crosses makes him a play on a slate with a ton of expensive forwards. Antonee Robinson (£13) was one of the best players on the pitch against Liverpool on Sunday and is another solid cheap defender.
GOALKEEPERS
Illan Meslier, LEE v. NEW (£15): Quick grievance: I'm curious in what universe should Jordan Pickford (£19) be the most expensive goalkeeper on any slate. I'd skip playing him against a solid Leicester City attack. Alisson Becker (£18) and Hugo Lloris (£18) are the next two most expensive options and will face each other. Tottenham have been superb defensively and Allison is the best goalkeeper in the Premier League. Lukasz Fabianski (£14) has the second-best clean sheet odds and has scored at least nine points in four of his past five matches. Alphonse Areola (£12) is the cheapest expected starter and will face a Brighton team that has taken the fourth-most shots among teams on Wednesday's slate. Finally, Meslier has the best clean sheet odds and faces a Newcastle side that has scored six goals in five away matches.
