FPL Gameweek 20 Differentials: Low-Owned Players to Consider
Identifying the right differentials is one of the most effective ways to gain an edge in Fantasy Premier League, particularly when popular players fail to deliver. Low-owned players with improving roles, favourable fixtures and secure minutes can provide the swing returns needed to climb mini-league standings.
This article highlights the best FPL differentials for Gameweek 20, focusing on players owned by fewer than five percent of managers who offer genuine upside based on fixture quality, form, and tactical role.

Best FPL Differentials for Gameweek 20
Djed Spence - 1.2% (Tottenham Hotspur)
Thomas Frank appears to have somewhat solidified the Spurs defence a bit after their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool in Gameweek 17. They have two clean sheets from their last two games against Crystal Palace and Brentford, both of which were away from home.
Sunderland, West Ham and Burnley are three of Spurs' next four games in the league, which should allow them to continue their defensive form.
Destiny Udogie is still injured, meaning that Djed Spence will start regularly at left-back, and at £4.3m, he represents great value.
Malick Thiaw - 3.3% (Newcastle)
Another team with a nice run of upcoming fixtures is Newcastle. They have three home games and an away fixture against Wolves in their next four, making the Newcastle defensive options enticing, especially given the lack of rotation due to injuries.
Whilst Lewis Hall is a great option as he offers some attacking threat, there are some doubts around his fitness.
For that reason, Malick Thiaw is a nice differential as he is likely the most nailed defender for the Magpies, even more so than Fabian Schar when everyone is healthy.
Lucas Paqueta - 1.9% (West Ham)
If you believe in the narrative that fixtures create form, then West Ham players should be at the top of your shopping list.
Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Sunderland and Burnley are four of their next six games in the league.
Lucas Paqueta showed that he can provide great value in Gameweek 19, scoring and assisting against Brighton, as he is priced at just £5.9m.
West Ham's entire team can be considered differentials given their play this season, but the price of Paqueta with PKs, maybe makes him the most intriguing.
Dominik Szoboszlai - 4.8% (Liverpool)
Dominik Szoboszlai served his one-match suspension in Gameweek 18 and returned in Gameweek 19 against Leeds. While Liverpool couldn't score from their many opportunities, Szoboszlai featured as the No. 10, finishing with one shot, three chances created and four corners taken.
Liverpool haven't been free-flowing in attack of late, but if anything good happens, it usually comes from the Hungarian. Given his importance in the side, you'd think he'd be a little more popular than he is.
With Alexander Isak sidelined due to injury, penalty-taking duty will likely fall to Szoboszlai in the coming weeks, so at just £6.6m, he also represents good value.
Danny Welbeck - 4.8% (Brighton)
Danny Welbeck was back in the starting lineup for Brighton against West Ham in Gameweek 19, and he was also back on the scoresheet. It wasn't the most impressive of performances as he scored a penalty, then missed one four minutes later, meaning that he only came away with three FPL points.
However, it's Burnley at home up next for Brighton, so we can expect more goals from the striker priced at just £6.3m.
There aren't a ton of elite forward options this season, and Welbeck already has eight goals from just over 1,000 minutes played. He scored 10 all of last season from 30 appearances.
Callum Wilson - 0.7% (West Ham)
Like Danny Welbeck, Callum Wilson also returned to the starting lineup in the week, but he didn't manage to get on the scoresheet. West Ham look a lot better when he plays, so I would expect him to get another start at the weekend.
West Ham's nice run of fixtures begins with Wolves this week, so if you're looking for a short-term punt, then Wilson at £5.8m could be the answer.
In his last five starts, he has three goals from eight shots taken.
Final Thoughts: FPL Gameweek 20 Differentials
Differentials can be the difference-maker in tight mini-leagues, and Gameweek 20 offers several low-owned options with favourable fixtures and secure roles. Players like Malick Thiaw and Djed Spence provide budget defensive upside, while attackers such as Wilson and Welbeck offer value in improving matchups.
As always, monitor team news and predicted lineups before the deadline to maximise returns.
