Cucurella finally stayed healthy last season, appearing regularly and finishing with a career-best five goals and one assist from 33 starts. He won 45 of his attempted 67 tackles, continuing his defensive effort to go with a little more attacking upside. Left-back is one of the few positions that Chelsea have not gone to the market to freshen up the past couple years and that's because of Cucurella. While known more for his defensive ability, it wouldn't be surprising if his attacking output grew once again in 2025/26.
Training, could return Sunday
Cucurella (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's match against Manchester City, according to interim manager Calum McFarlane. "With Marc it is positive [that he's back training] and we will see with him,' he added. 'We're undecided on that [whether he will play], I don't have the full information on him as of yet."

He will need to pass some testing to play as the club holds out on the return of their regular left-back. IF he is an option, he should see the start against one of the club's top clubs, with Malo Gusto as a possible replacement on the left again if Cucurella is out or on the bench to start.
