Chase Briscoe won his seventh race of the season in last week's regular-season finale at Bristol Motor Speedway. There was only one playoff spot remaining to be claimed in that race and it was Brandon Brown who held station to gain entry into the championship battle. That battle gets underway this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the Alsco 300. Briscoe is not only last week's winner, but he is also the last Xfinity driver to win at this week's venue. He led 89 of 200 laps at the track earlier this season to beat Austin Cindric. He started second in the spring race and will start from pole, alongside Cindric, in this week's race.

Las Vegas Motor Speedway is one of the numerous 1.5-mile ovals on the NASCAR Xfinity Series calendar. Drivers and teams set up their cars to maximize grip on the slippery circuit, and drivers who unload a quick car tend to have the advantage. Track position is an important factor given the grip levels, as passing, even with new tires, can sometimes be a challenge. The high speeds at the track segregate the best from the rest quickly, as teams work to make the changes necessary to move forward. Caution periods and restarts will give those teams unhappy with their cars the chance to make up some ground. There have been less than 10 caution periods in each race at the track since 2009, which means teams will have to plan for green-flag pit stops, making pit road efficiency a crucial factor for success this week.

Austin Cindric leads the lower-risk lineup again this week at Las Vegas. The Penske Racing driver was the runner up in the spring race and is joint-leader in the standings as the playoffs begin. He has also only finished outside of the top 10 once since July. Ross Chastain is eighth in the standings and won the fall Las Vegas race in 2018. His average finish at the track is 13.6 from seven series starts. Michael Annett will start this weekend's race from 13th as he seeks to improve his playoff position. He finished seventh in the spring race at the track and was fifth in the spring race there in 2019. Brandon Brown wrapped up the final playoff slot last weekend and will start this week's race 11th. His best Las Vegas finish was 11th in the spring race and has been a consistent top-15 finisher since the summer. Alex Labbe has back-to-back top-15 finishes coming into this week's race. He has four series starts at this track with an average finish of 17th. Rounding out the lower-risk option is Chad Finchum. Finchum has five series stars at the track with a best result of 21st, which he achieved twice. He can be hit or miss for fantasy players, but does have two 20th-place finishes in the last five races and starts last this weekend.

Chase Briscoe has been running away with the win count this season, but he could use some more consistency in his favor. He is the spring Las Vegas winner and won last week at Bristol, but failed to finish in the top 10 in three of the last four races. Justin Allgaier has been very consistent at Las Vegas. He has 10 top-10 finishes from 12 starts at the track and led 63 laps there earlier this season. Brett Moffitt finished 15th in that race and will start 20th this week. That was his only series start at Las Vegas, but his average finish at the track in the trucks is 7.8 from five starts. He knows how to finish at the front at this track and will be applying that this weekend in the Xfinity Series. Vinnie Miller's best Las Vegas finish is 24th from 2018. He has five starts at the track and will roll off in the 35th position this week. Austin Hill won at this track in the trucks last year and finished third in that series in the spring, too. He has only run four Xfinity races so far this season but did score a ninth-place finish at Darlington. Jesse Little will be the final selection for the roster with a 14th-place finish in the spring race and a 24th-place starting position this week.
