2025 Fantasy Outlook
The seven-time champion's return to NASCAR would only make three starts last season with the new Legacy Motor Club before a personal family tragedy would sideline Johnson the remainder of the year at mid-season. He looks to return to action (part-time) in 2024 with the team's No. 84 Chevrolet. Johnson's exact schedule and number of starts have not been announced at the time of this writing, but we do know of at least three starts (Texas, Charlotte and Kansas) due to some sponsorship disclosures. The veteran driver was having difficulty adjusting to the new Cup Series car last year before he'd have to step out last July. His three starts all ended with DNF's, so Johnson has a lot to prove in terms of performance in the upcoming season. Read Past Outlooks
Truck Start at San Diego
TRICON Garage announced that NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time Cup Series champion Johnson will return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for its inaugural race at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego, California.
ANALYSIS
TRICON will put the veteran driver in one of their strong trucks at the new Naval Base Coronado event in June. Johnson hasn't made a start in this division of NASCAR since 2008 so its been a long spell between starts. Carvana will pick up the sponsorship on the No. 1 Toyota and Johnson will bring a wealth of driving experience to the start.
