Fight Stat Wrap: UFC Greenville

This article is part of our Fight Stat Wrap series.

In the main event of UFC Greenville, "The Korean Zombie" got back on track with a historic knockout of Renato Moicano. The rest of the main card featured some strong performances, plus the undercard featured the most significant strikes landed in a middleweight fight. The following is a by-the-numbers recap that highlights the stats and milestones that stood out on the main card, with stats courtesy of UFCStats.com.

Chan Sung Jung shocks Renato Moicano and the world with quick finish

From a statistical perspective, it would be hard to have a better night than Jung had against Moicano. He landed 16 of his 24 significant strike attempts, absorbed none, scored a knockdown and finished the fight in only 58 seconds. The victory was the second-quickest win of his UFC career. Prior to this fight, Moicano had never been stopped in the first round and had only been stopped due to strikes once before.

Jung finished with the highest DraftKings score on the main card with 114 points, and he was only behind two fighters who had strong performances on the undercard. Luis Pena (119.5) dominated the returning Matt Wiman before stopping the fight in the third. Deron Winn set a new record for the most significant strikes landed in a middleweight fight and put up 114.5 points.

Randy Brown starches Bryan Barberena in the third round

This was a relatively even striking contest through the first two rounds. In the first, Brown outlanded Barberena 29 to 16. In the second, he had the advantage 22 to 21. However, Brown blew the fight wide open in the third frame. He outlanded Barberena 38 to 10, scored a knockdown and finished the fight. Barberena has always relied on his rock solid chin, but he has now been stopped via strikes in back-to-back fights.

For the third-round finish, Brown finished with 99.5 DraftKings points. There were only five scores at or over 100 points on the night, so this was a solid DFS performance.

Andre Ewell takes care of business against Anderson dos Santos

Ewell was a master of distance in this fight. He was able to close the distance and land 73 significant strikes at a 42 percent rate. Dos Santos threw 132 significant strike attempts, but he had a lot of trouble actually landing. He ended up landing only 35 significant strikes in the three round fight. If Ewell is able to replicate this performance, he should be able to move up in the bantamweight division.

Ewell's mastery did not really come across in his DraftKings score. This was basically a striking contest, and his volume did not put him over the top. He finished with 66.5 points, which was the second lowest score for a winning fighter on the night

Andrea Lee owns the striking against Montana De La Rosa

In terms of striking, this was not an even contest. At distance, Lee outlanded De La Rosa 43 to 11. Overall, she had the advantage 73 to 14. De La Rosa needed to get the fight on the ground to be successful. She landed five of her 12 takedown attempts, but she was not able to hold position on the ground. Lee continually got back to her feet and continued to dominate the striking contests.

Lee finished with 77.5 points on DraftKings. She padded her score a bit with some grappling points. In addition to her 73 significant strikes, she also landed a pair of passes and a takedown.

Kevin Holland edges Alessio Di Chirico despite injury

Going into the third round, it was pretty obvious that Holland was dealing with a shoulder injury. The fight appeared to be even, but Di Chirico was not able to pull out the decision even with the injury. In the final round, Holland outlanded Di Chirico 27 to 13. Di Chirico did not do himself any favors, as he attempted only 27 significant strikes compared to Holland, who had 47.

Holland pulled out the victory, but he ended up with only 59 DraftKings points. This was the lowest score for a winning fighter on the fight.
