2024 Fantasy Outlook
Henry’s 419 receiving yards in 2023 were a career low, but he tied for second among tight ends with six touchdown catches while playing in a Patriots offense that had a league-low 16 passing touchdowns. Henry scored on five of his six red-zone targets, accounting for 15 percent of New England's chances inside the 20 and 38.4 percent of the TDs. Even after missing the final three games of 2023 due to a knee injury, Henry wasn’t too far from his career averages of 550 yards and 5.4 touchdowns per season. The 29-year-old tight end inked a three-year extension with the Patriots in March, seven weeks before the team drafted quarterback Drake Maye third overall. There's still some competition for TE routes with Austin Hooper replacing Mike Gesicki in a depth role, but Maye gives Henry and the rest the passing game at least a shred of hope after last year's abysmal squad failed to get anyone to 600 receiving yards. Makes two catches Sunday
Henry brought in two of three targets for 12 yards in Sunday's 30-13 loss to San Francisco.
ANALYSIS
Henry finished with disappointing numbers for the third time in four starts this season. The veteran tight end saw one more target than backup Austin Hooper, but the latter was the recipient of Jacoby Brissett's lone passing touchdown in the loss. Henry showed us in Week 2 that he can be a fantasy factor, but that glow has faded heading into Sunday's tilt against the Dolphins.

Henry regressed in his second season with the Patriots as the team’s entire offense took a step back. After totaling nine touchdowns and 17 red-zone targets in 2021, he had just two and seven in 2022. Henry played at least 70 percent of snaps in 12 of 17 games last season, catching 41 of 59 targets for 509 yards to top the 500-yard threshold for a fourth consecutive campaign. The Patriots traded fellow tight end Jonnu Smith to Atlanta in March, but they quickly replaced him with Mike Gesicki, who is more of a threat to take snaps from Henry in passing situations. Henry could become even more TD-dependent, which doesn't come with much upside given that the Patriots are set to run it back with QB Mac Jones after he threw only 14 TD passes last year.

Back in fold with Pats
Henry re-signed with the Patriots on a three-year deal Friday, Mike Reiss of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The move keeps the veteran tight end in place just days before he was to become an unrestricted free agent. Despite the many woes of the Patriots' passing game in 2023, Henry was often a bright spot, finishing with 42 catches for 419 yards and a team-high six touchdowns before a knee injury led to him missing the final three games of the regular season.
