Friday's college basketball action includes three top-25 teams in action from the Big Ten, highlighted by a showdown in Madison as Michigan State travels to take on Wisconsin. It's part of a six-game DraftKings slate that begins at 6 p.m. EST for their $10 Big Jam Contest with a $2,000 top prize. FanDuel kicks things off an hour later for the $7.77 All-American Contest and $500 to first.
Top Players
Jaren Holmes, G, St. Bonaventure ($7,500 DK)
Holmes is the third most expensive option on the Bonnies despite leading the team in fantasy ppg, as one of four players on their team priced $7,000 or higher. He has great upside for this price range having recorded four 40+ point fantasy performances over the last 11 games with a ceiling of 53 fantasy points. He's coming off one of his worst games of the season in which he shot 1-for-12 against Dayton but this is a great bounce-back spot against sub-.500 Duquesne.
Trent Frazier, G, Illinois ($7,400 DK, $7,300 FD)
With star center Kofi Cockburn out with a concussion, Illinois will have to rely more on Frazier for offense tonight and Cockburn's 30.7 percent usage rate will certainly open up a lot of opportunities. Frazier led the team with a 23-point game against Marquette early in the season when Cockburn was last out, and he's also been really good lately with three straight 30-point fantasy games. His shooting splits of 52/36/86 will be difficult for struggling Maryland to defend.
Middle Tier
Max Christie, G, Michigan St. ($6,300 DK, $6,600 FD)
The five-star freshman is off to a solid start to 2022, averaging 13.5 points and 5.5 rebounds through four games this year and has posted three 27+ point fantasy games over his last five. A road matchup with Wisconsin would typically look like one to fade, but the Badgers are playing faster than usual and have allowed 68+ points in eight straight games. Christie is also leading the team in minutes and should see 30-35 tonight.
Noah Thomasson, G, Niagara ($5,200 DK)
There's value to be had on the Niagara side with all of their players coming in at a below-average salary, and Thomasson has seen an increased role, logging over 30 minutes in four straight games. He's been accurate from three where he's shooting 52 percent while also leading the team in assists. Marcus Hammond ($5,900 DK) is also a viable option but is likely to be much higher owned with his team-high 28.5 percent usage rate.
Values
Kevin Easley, F, Duquesne ($4,600 DK)
Easley looks to be a chalky option on the slate as he's simply too inexpensive to pass up with four consecutive 20-point fantasy games and a floor of 16.75 points through 15 games. The TCU transfer has been an efficient addition for the Dukes, shooting 40 percent from long range this season while also posting three double-doubles. St. Bonaventure hasn't been a great defensive team this year and ranks 271st in three-point percentage defense.
Ben Roderick, F, Ohio ($4,200 DK)
The Toledo/Ohio matchup features the highest over/under of the day and is an especially good matchup for Ohio, as Toledo pushes the pace and is better on the offensive side of the ball. Roderick has struggled a bit with his efficiency this year but is a career 35 percent shooter from deep that has 15-point scoring upside if he finds his range.
