Magic Dominate, Cruise To Defeat Spurs
The Orlando Magic defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 127-111, at Amway Center on Thursday.

The Magic (28-24) didn’t have problems getting past the Spurs (10-42) at home, with San Antonio starting their annual “Rodeo Trip” and Orlando looking to bounce back following an ugly double-digit loss to the Miami Heat. With the win, the Magic moved to 16-7 at home, while the Spurs fell to 5-21 on the road. The opening 12 minutes were quite tight and neither team established dominance, but the Magic pulled away for good in the second quarter after outscoring San Antonio by a 38-24 score. A 41-37 score for the Spurs in the third quarter reduced the deficit, but San Antonio didn’t have enough weapons to mount a comeback. The Magic closed things out with ease following a 29-26 score in the fourth quarter.

Franz Wagner was the leading scorer for the Magic with 34 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Paolo Banchero, who was introduced as an All-Star in front of the home crowd for the first time, posted 16 points, six assists and five rebounds. Wendell Carter Jr. had 10 points and six boards, while Jalen Suggs chipped in with 17 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Cole Anthony had 12 points off the bench, and Moritz Wagner added 11.
