Curry pours in 42 as Warriors rout Pacers, 131-109, on Thursday
The Golden State Warriors blew out the Indiana Pacers, 131-109, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday.

The Warriors (24-25) were hot off the bat and scored 45 points in the first quarter. The Pacers (29-24) kept pace with their opponents but weren’t able to go on a significant run and found themselves down by 12 points heading into halftime. Golden State put on the clamps in the third quarter, winning the frame 25-18 and extending its lead to 19. The Warriors led by as much as 25 points in the final frame, and with such a large margin, both teams opted to empty their bench down the stretch. Golden State dominated in the paint (64 points vs. 44), off the glass (49 total rebounds vs. 30) and hit 17 shots from beyond the arc compared to Indiana’s 12.

After scoring just nine points in Wednesday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers, Stephen Curry bounced back with a 44-point performance that included 11 made threes while adding two rebounds and two assists. Jonathan Kuminga tallied 18 points, two rebounds, four assists and two blocks, while Andrew Wiggins finished with 11 points, four rebounds and five assists. Gui Santos led the Warriors’ bench with 13 points and eight rebounds, while Dario Saric added 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists in reserve.

Jalen Smith led the bench with 14 points and five rebounds, while Bennedict Mathurin chipped in 11 points in reserve. Tyrese Haliburton was limited to five points but contributed 11 assists.

Both teams will play their next respective games Saturday, Feb. 10. The Warriors will return home to face the Phoenix Suns, while the Pacers start their three-game road trip against the New York Knicks.
