Best NBA Bets Today (Saturday, Jan. 31)

Dallas Mavericks vs. Houston Rockets: Mavericks to cover +10.5 spread, -105 @ BetMGM

The Rockets are the better team on paper and shouldn't have problems earning the win in this in-state rivalry. However, the differential might not be as big as the betting lines suggest. The Mavericks might be on a three-game losing streak, but they have covered this 10.5-point spread twice in that span. The play of star rookie Cooper Flagg has been sensational of late, and he should give the Rockets' defense all sorts of problems. Dallas has either won or lost by less than 10 points in eight of its previous nine contests, so the Mavs could be in a good position to cover a double-digit spread.

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Anthony Edwards over 28.5 points. -109 @ DraftKings

Edwards produced 26 points (9-17 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 35 minutes during Thursday's 123-111 win over the Thunder. The star guard is one of the best scorers in the NBA and should dominate in this favorable matchup against a weak Memphis defense that doesn't have a true stopper to slow Edwards down. Edwards has scored at least 26 points in four of his last six appearances, averaging a robust line of 29.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game since the beginning of January. That body of work suggests Edwards is likely to have a good shot at cracking this line.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Indiana Pacers: Jalen Johnson over 42.5 points + rebounds + assists, -108 @ FanDuel

Johnson is questionable due to a calf injury, so his availability is uncertain for this matchup. That said, he should be in line for a productive matchup if he's available since the Pacers have struggled defensively all season long. Johnson has unlocked a new level in his game this year, and while his recent performances have been a bit subpar, he's just too good to continue struggling at this rate for a prolonged stretch. Even with the regression he's had of late, Johnson is averaging a robust line of 20.4 points, 10.8 boards and 6.9 assists per contest this month. The favorable matchup and the strong possibility of a bounce-back effort boost his upside. He has posted at least 45 P+R+A nine times already this season and at least 40 P+R+A on 16 different occasions.
