2025 Fantasy Outlook
Miller's sophomore season was cut short due to a wrist injury that required surgery, limiting him to 27 appearances. Despite that, it was clear the Alabama product made strides in his game. Offensively, he slightly improved upon his true shooting percentage while adding more shot volume, and he became a better passer. He also marginally improved his defensive contributions. Altogether, he averaged 21.0 points and 3.9 made threes on 40/36/86 shooting, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.8 combined steals-plus-blocks. He may not develop into a No. 1 option while next to LaMelo Ball, and he still has some competition for usage with Miles Bridges, but all signs point to Miller establishing himself as a clear No. 2 in Charlotte's offense. Given that his biggest step forward next season could be efficiency, Miller projects as slightly more valuable in category leagues, but he's well-rounded enough to be nearly as valuable in points formats. Aggressive fantasy managers have plenty of reason to target him in the 30-40 range given his Year 2 progression, overall pedigree and position in Charlotte's hierarchy. Read Past Outlooks
Scores 12 points in return
Miller supplied 12 points (5-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal over 30 minutes during Friday's 111-86 victory over Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Miller returned from a two-game absence Friday, as he continues to deal with shoulder issues. His sporadic availability this season has been a source of frustration for fantasy managers, having played in just seven games thus far. He currently sits outside the top 200 in standard nine-category leagues, averaging 16.3 points, 2.9 assists, 1.1 blocks and 2.0 three-pointers in 25.7 minutes per game.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Miller finished third in Rookie of the Year voting last season behind phenoms Victor Wembanyama and Chet Holmgren, who both had historically good campaigns. The Alabama product wasn't as prolific but still averaged 17.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 stocks in 32.2 minutes per game while starting 68 of 74 appearances. Miller was also somewhat efficient for a rookie, posting 44/37/83 shooting splits. The return of a healthy LaMelo Ball will likely mean less usage for Miller on a nightly basis, but a point guard of that caliber should increase the pace and create easier looks for Miller, whose main weakness in category leagues was his field-goal percentage. If Ball gets the Hornets back on track, Miller could be in store for a major breakout as the No. 2 offensive weapon in a high-octane offense. However, there's also a world where Ball gets hurt again, and Miles Bridges maintains a leading role over Miller. As one of the more polarizing players in fantasy this season, managers are better off letting Miller fall to them in the later rounds than selecting him with a middle-round pick.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Hornets being cautious
Hornets head coach Charles Lee said the team was being patient with Miller's shoulder injury and that he's glad to have him back in the mix, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
"He allows us to have another primary defender on some of their primary ball-handlers that I think are some of their best creators," Lee said. "And then offensively, he gives us another weapon when we're trying to play with pace, we're trying to pass the ball ahead, or across his ability to get to the paint and make plays, his basketball IQ." A shoulder injury has limited Miller to seven regular-season outings thus far, and the forward is still searching for his rhythm, averaging 16.3 points, 2.9 assists, 2.1 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 2.0 three-pointers on 38.6 percent shooting from the field.
