There are 15 games on the schedule for Friday — the first one starts at 7:00 PM ET. There are some impressive pitchers on the mound, and not many lousy hurlers to take advantage of.
Here are my recommendations…
STARTING PITCHER
Zack Greinke, ARI at SD ($51): Greinke has posted a 3.05 ERA and 1.06 WHIP through 21 starts this season. He's also struck out 9.51 batters per nine innings, in line with the numbers he put up last year. The Padres are 28th in runs scored, and their ballpark is favorable to pitchers. As opposed to Greinke's home stadium, which tends to boost offense.
Ivan Nova, PIT vs. NYM ($38): Nova has had serious home/away splits the last few years. For example, this season he has a 5.40 ERA and a 2.92 home ERA. The Mets, meanwhile are 27ths in runs scored. On top of that, they have a .227 batting average as a team, lowest in the league.

CATCHER
Max Stassi, HOU vs. TEX ($11): Stassi is earning regular playing time for the first time in his career, and he's performed well enough to keep himself in the lineup most days. He has a .764 OPS with seven homers in 61 games. Yovani Gallardo has struggled starting for Texas this season, posting a 4.76 FIP. That's right in line with his three-year average of 4.75, so this is clearly the pitcher he is at this point. Plus, Gallardo has a 10.06 ERA on the road.
FIRST BASE
Anthony Rizzo, CHC at STL ($18): Rizzo's numbers are down this year, primarily when it comes to power, but a lot of that is owed to a .326 slugging percentage against lefties. The southpaw's numbers are more normal against righties, as he has a .450 slugging percentage with 11 homers in those matchups. Righty Luke Weaver has a 4.79 ERA this year, and a 4.68 ERA in his career.
SECOND BASE
Cesar Hernandez, PHI at CIN ($13): Hernandez only has a hint of power, but he's had an OBP of .370 or greater the last three seasons. Plus, he has speed, as he's going to have at least 15 stolen bases for the fourth year in a row (he has 14 now). This season has been something of a nightmare for Anthony DeSclafani, as he has a 6.26 FIP. His biggest problem? He's allowed 2.61 homers per nine innings. Even Hernandez might leave the park against him.
THIRD BASE
Rafael Devers, BOS vs. MIN ($15):Lance Lynn's move to Minnesota has not served him well, as he has a 5.23 ERA. The Twins' ballpark isn't the reason, though, as he has a 7.58 road ERA. Devers has had his issues this year, except when it comes to power. He has 14 homers in 94 games, and playing for the high-scoring Red Sox yields opportunity for RBI and runs scored as well.
SHORTSTOP
Trea Turner, WAS at MIA ($15): The 25-year-old Turner has a career slash line of .289/.344/.459, and speed to boot. He has 22 stolen bases this year after having 46 last season in only 98 games. Turner also has 13 homers. We don't know a ton about Miami starter Pablo Lopez, as he is a 22-year-old with only four starts to his name. However, in those starts he has a 5.09 ERA.
OUTFIELD
Rhys Hoskins, PHI at CIN ($21): Hoskins got off to a "slow" start, but over the last 30 games he's slashed .263/.362/.517, and he now has 20 homers on the year. He's been particularly strong against righties, posting a .525 slugging percentage against them. As previously noted, Anthony DeSclafani has a 6.26 FIP and has given up 2.61 home runs per nine innings. If anybody on the Phillies can take advantage of that, it's Hoskins.
Michael Brantley, CLE at DET ($16): Last season, Brantley was only able to play in 90 games and had a slash line of .299/.357/.444. This year, he's already played in 90 games and has slashed .300/.347/.477. Mike Fiers may have a 3.49 ERA, but his 4.61 FIP tells a different story. He's also given up 1.37 homers per nine innings in his career.
George Springer, HOU vs. TEX ($15): It's been a weird season for Springer, who only has a .762 OPS, well below his career average of .824. The main culprit? A .274 BABIP, which is also well below his career average of .306. Going up against Yovani Gallardo could be the kind of thing that could help boost his numbers. As previously noted, Gallardo has a 10.06 away ERA this year.
