WynnBET Sportsbook: Thursday Best Bets

This article is part of our MLB Picks series.

Previous: 1-3, -1.8 RWBucks
Overall: 97-80-1, +1.55 RWBucks

Nationals at Marlins, 7:10 p.m. EDT

Patrick Corbin vs. Elieser Hernandez

Corbin has allowed at least one home run in 10 of his last 11 starts. While I am not thrilled about relying on the Marlins lineup for power, especially at home, it does have seven right-handed batters going Thursday. The Marlins have averaged more than one home run per game at home in August (14 in 13 games).

BET: Corbin over 0.5 HR allowed -110

Giants at Mets, 7:10 p.m. EDT

Alex Wood vs. Carlos Carrasco

Two teams going in opposite directions, which I have written several times the last month. Even though the Mets have been strong at home overall this season, you have to look at this team since Aug. 1. They are 6-17 this month, 3-6 at home and 3-11 on the road. They have averaged just 3.3 runs at home with only five home runs.

The Giants are 17-5 this month and are the most balanced team in baseball. Wood has bounced back in his last two starts as he hit a rough patch in his previous three starts. He has not allowed a home runs in seven of his last 10 starts.

BET: Wood under 0.5 HR allowed +120 for 1 RWBuck

BET: Giants -115 for 1 RW buck

Red Sox vs. Twins, 7:10 p.m. EDT

Chris Sale vs. John Gant

The Red Sox are 7-4 at home in August with a .300/.389/.566 batting line and averaging 7.9 runs per game. John Gant will act as more of an opener for the Twins and then let it go to the bullpen.  The Twins' pitching staff has a 6.14 ERA in 12 road games this month and have allowed at least six runs in each of the last six games. The Twins' bullpen ranks last in multiple categories the last 14 days and the Red Sox should be able to continue the onslaught.

BET: Red Sox over 5.5 runs (-125) for 1 RWBuck
