Closer Watch

Chicago Cubs - Hector Rondon netted his 20th save of the season in Friday's contest against the Whites Sox, setting down each of the three batters he faced in order. The 27-year-old has been impressive of late, not allowing an earned run in any of his last five outings and just two earned runs dating back to May 22. As a result, he's locked himself into the Cubs' closing role once again, and with a good club around him, should continue to receive a fair amount of save opportunities down the stretch.

New York Yankees - Despite allowing a run to the Indians on Thursday, Andrew Miller picked up his 25th save of the season Thursday, striking out two of the five batters he faced. While he's continued to convert most of his save opportunities, the 30-year-old hasn't pitched as well since returning from an injury in early July. In fact, his ERA has risen from 1.03 when he was placed on the disabled list June 9, to a 2.25 ERA following Thursday's outing. Miller still remains locked in as the closer at this point, but Dellin Betances remains in waiting should anything come up.

Recommended Pickup

Eugenio Suarez, SS, CIN - Following the injury to Zack Cozart, the Reds turned to Suarez on an everyday basis, and he hasn't disappointed. While he isn't known for his power, the 24-year-old had collected seven home runs and has shown a surprising amount of consistency with the Reds, batting .307/.338/.492 over 51 games and 189 at-bats. He's been the hottest lately, collecting a hit in 11 of his 12 starts this month en route to a .333 batting average. The job will likely remain his for the rest of the season, and he could continue to reap the benefits of the hitter-friendly ballpark in Cincinnati and the recent move to the second spot in the order. Despite his success, the young shortstop remains unowned in many formats, and could be worthy of a pickup.
