MLB Betting: Thurday Best Bets

This article is part of our MLB Picks series.

Previous: 4-0, +3.99 RWBucks
Overall: 131-103-1, +10.75 RWBucks

Dodgers vs. Rockies, 3:10 p.m. EDT

Max Scherzer vs. Kyle Freeland

Scherzer's numbers since Aug. 1 are insane — 58 innings, 79 strikeouts, seven walks, 0.78 ERA, 0.66 WHIP.

He is working on a scoreless innings streak of 36.2 innings.

I am looking for the best bets that will leverage Scherzer continuing his scoreless innings streak. Even though the game is in Coors, he has been so dominate and focused since being traded to the Dodgers that I think you roll with him and hope it continues.

BET: Both teams to NOT score 1 or more runs in the first 5 innings (+135) for 1 RWBuck

Diamondbacks vs. Braves, 3:40 p.m. EDT

Madison Bumgarner vs. Charlie Morton

Morton has surpassed six strikeouts in six of his last eight starts and nine of his last 13.  He has recorded at least 18 outs in 10 of his last 13 starts as well. He has been one of the most consistent pitchers in the second half of the season while the Diamondbacks have been the worst team in baseball.

BET: Morton over 6.5 strikeouts (-102 FanDuel) for 1 RWBuck

BET: Morton over 17.5 outs (-120 BetMGM) for 1 RWBuck

Giants vs. Padres, 4:10 p.m. EDT

Logan Webb vs. Yu Darvish

I feel like a broken record every day when it comes to the Giants and Logan Webb. How this line is just about even I will never know. The Giants are the best team in baseball and the Padres have been the most disappointing. Webb has been one of the best pitchers in baseball the last three months, while Darvish has just one win since June 27. While Darvish did look good in his last start, I can not back him against the Giants who got him for eight runs on September 13. This is probably my strongest bet of the season.

BET: Giants (-115) for 3 RWBucks
