FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

FanDuel MLB: Sunday Breakdown

This article is part of our FanDuel MLB series.

The MLB regular season concludes Sunday with a 3:05 PM slate that features all 30 teams. While many teams will be resting some regulars in this one, there are still favorable matchups to be exploited for crafting DFS lineups. Below, you'll find which individual pitchers and hitters are primed to provide the best value, as well as the top lineup stacking options in this slate.

Pitching

Many pitching options on top teams, like Gerrit Cole, Mike Soroka or Masahiro Tanaka will likely be on pitching restrictions to get them ready for the playoffs, shrinking the pool of sensible options to choose from. Still, there's value to be found near the upper echelon of arms in this slate.

The Red Sox have long been eliminated from playoff contention, but Eduardo Rodriguez ($9,300) is still chasing a personal accolade, as he'll be going for win No. 20 at home against an Orioles team with the second-worst record in baseball. Rodriguez has earned his impressive record with a 3.76 ERA, 3.95 FIP and 24.6 percent strikeout rate.

Noah Syndergaard ($8,000) of the Mets represents a high-ceiling pick at home against a Braves' lineup that's likely to be depleted with Atlanta preparing for the postseason. Thor's 3.62 FIP suggests he's been unlucky to pitch to a 4.30 ERA this season, and he's provided a solid source of whiffs as usual with a 24.2 percent strikeout rate.

Key Values/Chalk

The Brewers, White Sox and Rays are all primed to finish the season on a high note offensively, but there's value to be found outside of those three stackable lineups as well.

Boston shortstop Xander Bogaerts ($3,900) sports a wOBA north of .400 at Fenway Park this season, and he should put an exclamation point on his excellent season against an Orioles side that's closing out the campaign with a bullpen day.

Phillies' outfielder Bryce Harper ($4,100) boasts a .383 wOBA at Citizens Bank Park and has finished strong with 59.9 fantasy points in the first two games of this series against the cellar-dwelling Marlins. While the prominent offseason acquisition was unable to get Philadelphia back into the playoffs, the left-handed slugger should capitalize on this opportunity to pad his 2019 stat line against Marlins' righty Sandy Alcantara.

Reds' first baseman Joey Votto ($3,300) comes in with a .350 wOBA against righties, which should climb in this finale against Pirates starter Trevor Williams, who has surrendered a .389 mark to batters from the left side.

Stacks

Brewers at Rockies (RHP Jeff Hoffman)

Keston Hiura (2B - $4,200), Eric Thames (1B - $3,700), Trent Grisham (OF - $3,400)

Milwaukee is one of the few teams with something left to play for, as the NL Central remains in play. Meanwhile, Coors Field will finish as the league's most hitter-friendly venue this season with a 1.41 park factor, and Hoffman has struggled with a 6.78 ERA and 6.87 FIP. Hiura should take advantage of the favorable hitting conditions given his .430 wOBA in righty-on-righty matchups. Thames owns the platoon advantage as a left-handed batter and a .361 wOBA against righties. Grisham also enjoys the same advantage and offers an affordable option out of the leadoff spot.

White Sox vs. Tigers (RHP Spencer Turnbull)

Yoan Moncada (3B - $3,500), Eloy Jimenez (OF - $3,700), Leury Garcia (OF - $2,900)

The Tigers are an abhorrent 47-113, and the White Sox will look to put a 114th loss on their ledger against Turnbull, who has posted a 6.75 ERA over his last 15 starts and hasn't notched a win since May 31. The switch-hitting Moncada has noticeably favored the left side with a .386 wOBA against righties. Jimenez has looked slightly better in righty-on-righty matchups than against lefties, and has hit 24 of his 31 home runs in that split. Garcia will have the platoon advantage as a switch-hitter and maximizes his plate appearances out of the leadoff spot.

Rays at Blue Jays (RHP Clay Buchholz)

Austin Meadows (OF - $4,000), Brandon Lowe (2B - $3,300), Nate Lowe (1B - $2,600)

Tampa Bay has a great opportunity to build some momentum heading into the Wild Card game, as Buchholz has registered a dreadful 7.00 ERA and 5.78 FIP. Just make sure these guys aren't getting the day off before locking them in. Meadows has recorded a .397 wOBA against righties, B. Lowe has posted a .374 mark in that split and likely needs the reps after a long quadriceps-related layoff, and N. Lowe has managed a .377 road wOBA overall.
