MLS Fantasy Rankings: Week 27

The rankings below are based on Major League Soccer's official fantasy game and cover all games in Week 27. While they can be used for DFS purposes, they are done with a focus on the league's season-long game.

Forwards

1	Carlos Vela	LAFC at ORL	15.0	I find it unlikely that Vela plays, but his injury does sound minor and if Bob Bradley is comfortable enough to start him then I would be too. No word on whether or not he even travelled to Orlando as of this writing.
2	Jozy Altidore	TOR at FCC	10.2	Jozy is likely to return after sitting last match. He should be salivating over this matchup sans Kendall Waston.
3	Valentin Castellanos	NYC v. NE	7.6	Without Heber, Taty will be relied on to continue his recent flourish. New England are an improved team, but they also haven't kept a clean sheet for a month and a half.
4	Diego Rossi	LAFC at ORL	9.5	Rossi was pretty one-dimensional against Minnesota. The Loons are a far better defensive team than half of an Orlando squad, though, so I'm willing to double down.
5	Gustavo Bou	NE at NYC	11.2	With goals in six of his eight starts, he's surely worth a look. I'd prefer deploying him from the bench given the road game against a formidable opponent.
6	Brian Fernandez	POR v. SKC	9.8
7	Alexandru Mitrita	NYC v. NE	8.1	Certainly worth a look as a Castellanos alternative.
8	Adama Diomande	LAFC at ORL	8.1	Dio has not looked impressive lately, but he's earned a bonus point for shooting in three of the past four matches and could be a nice differential during a crucial but tumultuous fantasy week.
9	Jeremy Ebobisse	POR v. SKC	5.3
10	Andre Shinyashiki	COL v. SEA	5.8	Kei Kamara and Diego Rubio are out for this one. Not a bad play, but certainly not the optimal move either.
11	Darren Mattocks	FCC v. TOR	6.6
12	Erik Hurtado	SKC at POR	6.0
13	Dom Dwyer	ORL v. LAFC	5.3	With Tesho out, Dom gets another chance to make some noise.
14	Justin Dhillon	SEA at COL	4.4	One of Dhillon and Silva will start up top. Not the worst dart throws.
15	Luis Silva	SEA at COL	5.6
16	Juan Caicedo	NE at NYC	5.9	Probably not starting.
17	Patrick Mullins	TOR at FCC	4.3	Probably not starting.
18	Niki Jackson	COL v. SEA	4.7	Probably not starting.
19	Rashawn Dally	FCC v. TOR	4.0	Potentially starting but shouldn't be.
20	Benji Michel	ORL v. LAFC	4.6	Probably not starting.

Midfielders

1	Diego Valeri	POR v. SKC	13.1	Valeri has rarely disappointed at home this year. Against a SKC side missing Russell and Gutierrez, he's likely to give us another good score.
2	Maximiliano Moralez	NYC v. NE	12.1
3	Nicolas Lodeiro	SEA at COL	12.7	Seattle are infamously shorthanded this week, but Lodeiro chose to stay behind during the break and help the team. His remaining teammates are well-drilled enough that his high production should only be slightly hampered.
4	Carles Gil	NE at NYC	12.7	With plenty of good or intriguing midfield options, it's tempting to get cute, but Gil presents a great 5th selection if you just take this top group.
5	Alejandro Pozuelo	TOR at FCC	9.6	One of the best indicators of where you sit in the FMLS standings is probably how quickly you bailed on frequently using Pozuelo 1-2 months ago. Unfortunately, this matchup pushes him back to the forefront of the midfield conversation.
6	Sebastian Blanco	POR v. SKC	9.7	The good: Portland will have a ton of the ball in SKC's half. The bad: Portland still are struggling at breaking a bunkering team down.
7	Latif Blessing	LAFC at ORL	10.1	Blessing is electric, but he doesn't accumulate bonus points at a rate equal to most good fantasy midfielders. I'm still very much considering him based on goal/assist potential alone.
8	Lee Nguyen	LAFC at ORL	6.7	Nguyen may be tasked with getting forward more in this match, depending on who else Bradley plays in the midfield.
9	Nicolas Benezet	TOR at FCC	7.5
10	Nani	ORL v. LAFC	9.1	Bob Bradley knows that if he stops Nani, Orlando will have little else to threaten with. Guess what Bob Bradley is going to make sure LAFC do?
11	Emmanuel Ledesma	FCC v. TOR	7.9
12	Jack Price	COL v. SEA	8.2
13	Jonathan Lewis	COL v. SEA	7.4	Will be over-owned after a brace last match, but if you think Seattle will be bad then go ahead!
14	Michael Bradley	TOR at FCC	9.1
15	Alexander Ring	NYC v. NE	8.6
16	Joshua Perez	LAFC at ORL	4.8	Perez is very likely to suit up on the wing for LAFC. The group may lack some chemistry without Vela (probably), Brian Rodriguez, Eduard Atuesta, and Mark-Anthony Kaye but Perez has shown some potential in limited action
17	Erickson Yirson Gallardo	TOR at FCC	6.6
18	Kellyn Acosta	COL v. SEA	5.0	Potentially a very good play depending on how Seattle fares. Too many other options for me to dive in with both feet though.
19	Cristian Penilla	NE at NYC	7.9
20	Adrien Perez	LAFC at ORL	4.0	Less likely to start than Josh Perez, but still a good possibility. He has shown mixed results in very limited action and would be best coming off of your bench.

Defenders

3	Jorge Villafana	POR v. SKC	8.0	I probably won't have the money or the 3rd spot for Villafana, but he'll be another good play.
4	Eddie Segura	LAFC at ORL	7.4	Away and without many players including Walker Zimmerman, I still don't mind the prospects of LAFC's defense. Orlando will be without many key players, too, including leading scorer Tesho Akindele.
5	Maxime Chanot	NYC v. NE	6.9	Staying for this match before heading out to international duty.
6	Auro	TOR at FCC	7.9
7	Omar Gonzalez	TOR at FCC	6.7	Auro's attacking upside outweighs the 1-2 bonus pts that Gonzalez is good for.
8	Ben Sweat	NYC v. NE	4.0
9	Jordan Harvey	LAFC at ORL	6.8	Make sure he's in over Mo El-Munir who subbed on for him last match.
10	Billel Tuiloma	POR v. SKC	4.9	Should be popular thanks to his price tag.
11	Steven Beitashour	LAFC at ORL	6.3
12	Tristan Blackmon	LAFC at ORL	7.0	Most likely the replacement for Walker Zimmerman.
13	Sam Vines	COL v. SEA	4.3	If Colorado can control any bit of this match, Vines could capitalize on some chances to get forward.
14	Tommy Smith	COL v. SEA	4.7	Could be higher, but I think Seattle still are competitive in this match.
15	Kelvin Leerdam	SEA at COL	5.0
16	Keegan Rosenberry	COL v. SEA	5.6
17	Chris Mavinga	TOR at FCC	5.1	If you thought Omar Gonzalez didn't get enough bonus points for a centerback...

19	Kim Kee-Hee	SEA at COL	5.9
20	Graham Zusi	SKC at POR	8.0	If he wasn't getting forward enough before, probably isn't happening for this match.

4	Quentin Westberg	TOR at FCC	6.2	Cincy are out of the playoff and focusing on seeing what their youth has to offer. They also will not have Kekuta Manneh or Allan Cruz in this match. Toronto should keep a clean sheet, but it's hard to trust them these days.
5	Tim Howard	COL v. SEA	5.6	Might be Clint Irwin instead.
6	Stefan Frei	SEA at COL	6.2
7	Tim Melia	SKC at POR	7.4
8	Brian Rowe	ORL v. LAFC	7.3	At home against a severely depleted road team? Sounds good, but I'm definitely not taking the chance in season long. Sign me up in daily fantasy, though!
9	Matt Turner	NE at NYC	6.6
10	Przemyslaw Tyton	FCC v. TOR	5.2	Toronto need points. Cincy are mathematically eliminated. Kendall Waston is out.

4	Lalas Abubakar	COL v. SEA	5.5	I feel better about Colorado defenders if they're my Plan B after NYC, LAFC, or TFC guys play (or play most of their matches at least).

7	Keaton Parks	NYC v. NE	5.4
8	Greg Garza	FCC v. TOR	5.2	Both Garza and Gutman (whoever starts) are quality fullbacks, but probably don't have a good clean sheet chance in this one.

3	Jozy Altidore	TOR at FCC	10.2	Good chance for a goal or two, but a slight risk coming back from his knock last week.
4	Nicolas Lodeiro	SEA at COL	12.7	Yes, even with Seattle barely being able to field a team.
5	Diego Rossi	LAFC at ORL	9.5	Skipped Taty to get here, but I think it's an interesting pick.
