2025 Fantasy Outlook
Adams has a new home, replacing Cooper Kupp (Seahawks) as Puka Nacua's running mate in Los Angeles. A 24-year-old Nacua figures to be the No. 1 receiver ahead of a 32-year-old Adams, but the respective track records of Adams, Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford suggest the aging wideout will be among the most heavily targeted No. 2 options in the league. After finishing 2023 with eight-year lows for yards per catch (11.1) and yards per target (6.5) and a six-year low of 67.3 receiving yards per game, Adams experienced a modest rebound with the Jets post-trade last year, producing 12.7 YPC, 7.5 YPT, 77.6 YPG and seven TDs in his 11 games with old pal Aaron Rodgers. While Stafford won't force the ball to Adams the way Rodgers did, Stafford has an excellent track record of supporting WR fantasy production, highlighted by record-breaking years from Kupp, Nacua and Calvin Johnson. There's even potential for Adams to average double-digit targets if Nacua struggles to stay healthy again, although it's wiser to expect something along the lines of seven looks per game when Nacua is available. That may be enough for strong production relative to his ADP, given Adams' consistent track record of accounting for a huge share of his teams' passing TDs -- something Nacua hasn't done yet. RANKS
Team-high yardage total in OT loss
Adams brought in five of 11 targets for 88 yards in the Rams' 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Adams edged Puka Nacua by three for the team lead in receiving yards, and he was one target behind his teammate for the top spot in that category as well. Adams' yardage and target tallies were also his best since Week 2 and second highest of the campaign in both cases. Nacua remains the clear alpha option in the Rams' air attack, but Adams' role as the No. 2 receiver is just as clearly delineated heading into a Week 6 road matchup against the Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 12.

QB Derek Carr may have been a disappointment for the Saints last year, but he was missed back in Las Vegas, where Adams finished 372 yards and six touchdowns shy of his 2022 numbers despite playing all 17 games again. The veteran wideout was still useful for fantasy (15.6 PPR average) thanks to the second-highest target rate in the league (31.5 percent of routes), but his catch rate fell south of 60 percent for a second straight season and unlike in 2022 he couldn't make up for it with a smattering of long-distance scores. dropping from 15.2 yards per catch to 11.1. Adams' 55 targets between 10 and 19 yards downfield were a league high, with his 477 yards on those passes placing sixth. He was also Top 10 for both targets and yards on short passes, but the downfield stuff was a complete disaster with just five catches for 164 yards and two TDs on 27 passes 20-plus yards downfield (11th most targets, 55th most yards) even though Adams didn't drop any of them. That's not the best advertisement for Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell, especially after Adams had 593 yards (third most) and nine TDs (league high) on a league-high-tying 38 deep targets in 2022. Positive regression in 2024 is certainly possible and would bring Adams back into the fantasy WR1 territory he occupied from 2018-122, but it can't be assumed when talking about a 31-year-old receiver who still has QB concerns. Offseason signing Gardner Minshew, while probably an upgrade on O'Connell, will still be one of the lesser starting QBs in the league and leave both Adams and fellow WR Jakobi Meyers with efficiency concerns.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Misses consecutive practices
Adams has missed both of the Rams' first two practices of the week due to hamstring soreness, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Head coach Sean McVay had termed Adams' problem as "soreness" when announcing he wouldn't practice Wednesday, while adding he didn't anticipate any issue with the veteran receiver's availability for Sunday's Week 4 showdown against the Colts. Whether Thursday's absence changes that prognosis remains to be seen, but if Adams is ultimately unable to suit up versus Indianapolis, Puka Nacua figures to be even busier than usual as the No. 1 receiver. Meanwhile, Jordan Whittington, who has just a 4-49-0 line on five targets through three games, would be in line to serve as the No. 2 wideout.
