Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Shaheed got off to a fast start in 2024, his third pro season, looking ready to challenge for his first 1,000-yard campaign until a Week 6 meniscus tear stopped him in his tracks. He caught only 20 of 41 targets pre-injury, but with career highs for yards per catch (17.5), aDOT (17.6) and targets per game (6.8). Shaheed's 15 targets of 20-plus yards were two more than any other receiver had at the time of his season-ending injury, and while he caught only three of those, all three went for touchdowns (of 70, 59 and 43 yards). He's one of the best undrafted players of recent years, having initially caught on with the Saints in 2022 as a return specialist before quickly becoming a downfield threat on offense. The only downside so far is that Shaheed's excellent work on returns hasn't translated into success catching short passes and gaining yards after the catch -- he has just 371 career receiving yards on targets within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. The timing of his injury should allow Shaheed to make a full recovery before training camp, at which point he'll be playing for a new coaching staff and will still have only concussion-prone Chris Olave as serious competition for targets. The problem, apart from Shaheed's lack of short-area production, is that the Saints are a candidate for worst-in-the-league QB play. Derek Carr's retirement may set up a summer job battle between second-round rookie Tyler Shough and 2024 fifth-round pick Spencer Rattler. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
One snag in victory
Shaheed caught one of three targets for seven yards and churned out 43 yards on three punt returns in Sunday's 26-0 win over the Vikings.
ANALYSIS
Shaheed was once again a non-factor on offense in Week 13, reeling in a pass for seven yards in the second quarter. After securing at least four passes in all nine of his contests with the Saints prior to being traded, the wide receiver has had only one multi-reception performance with Seattle, catching four of 11 targets for 37 yards over four games with the team. Shaheed will look to be more involved on offense in Week 14 against Atlanta.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Shaheed burst onto the scene in 2022 as an undrafted, 24-year-old rookie out of Weber State, with a slew of splash plays and impressive kick returns in the first half of the season eventually landing him a larger role in the Saints offense over the final six weeks. He caught 22 of 26 targets for 377 yards (14.5 YPT) and a TD in that six-week stretch, doing more than enough to enter 2023 as the No. 3 receiver behind Chris Olave and Michael Thomas. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, Shaheed's role didn't change much when Thomas went down with a season-ending ankle injury. He still played 50-75 percent of snaps most weeks, and was pure boom/bust with the five games in which he scored touchdowns also producing his five best yardage totals for the year. While there was inevitable regression from his near-impossible 2022 efficiency, Shaheed caught 61.3 percent of his targets for 15.3 yards per catch and a still-impressive 9.6 YPT. Less impressive was his target rate, with Shaheed's 16.9 percent (75 targets on 444 routes) ranking 65th out of the 115 WRs with 200 or more routes. The Saints moved on from Thomas this offseason and didn't have cap space for big free-agent additions, so there is some chance Shaheed takes another step forward in terms of target rate/share, even if the more likely outcome is that he remains a medium-volume deep threat whose strong work as a kick and punt returner makes him more valuable to the Saints than to fantasy teams.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Heavy snaps likely in team debut
Shaheed, who was just traded from the Saints to the Seahawks on Tuesday, may have to play significant snaps in his team debut against the Cardinals on Sunday due to multiple other injuries on Seattle's receiving corps, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Cooper Kupp, who Shaheed may usurp for the No. 2 receiver job anyhow, is questionable for Sunday's game due to heel and hamstring injuries, but he did manage to work back to a full practice Friday. However, even if Kupp is available, Tory Horton is doubtful due to a groin injury, while Jake Bobo and Dareke Young have already been ruled out due to calf and hip injuries, respectively. Although Shaheed naturally is still going through the acclimation process on his new team, the fact he worked with Seattle's offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak last season in New Orleans does give the speedy receiver working knowledge of the team's scheme.
