There are five games Monday, including three in the afternoon. I'm going to look at the full schedule for my DFS recommendations, which means getting your lineup in by 1 p.m. EST.
GOALIE
Jack Campbell, TOR at MON ($30): Yes, Campbell has struggled in the new year. His 2.41 GAA and .922 save percentage are not indicative of his recent performance. Monday, I don't mind given the matchup. The Canadiens are last in goals per game and last in GAA. They are also on the second leg of a back-to-back. Even if Petr Mrazek ($32) is in net instead, I'm still happy to have him in my DFS lineup.
GOALIE TO AVOID
Jeremy Swayman, BOS vs. COL ($30): Swayman has been stellar, posting a 2.14 GAA and .923 save percentage. Although, that is over only 21 games, and this will be his biggest challenge this season. The Avalanche are second in goals per contest at 3.98, and they got Nathan MacKinnon back recently.
CENTER
Elias Pettersson, VAN vs. SEA ($19): Pettersson has looked like the All-Star version of himself the last month. Over his last 14 games he has 15 points, including eight goals. Meanwhile, the Kraken have a 3.51 GAA.
CENTER TO AVOID
Patrice Bergeron, BOS vs. COL ($28): Bergeron is going to be without Brad Marchand on his wing for a bit, and that lowers his upside. Also lowering his upside? Facing the Avalanche. Over his last 11 games Darcy Kuemper has an 1.42 GAA and .932 save percentage.
WING
Michael Bunting, TOR at MON ($18): Bunting has really enjoyed spending his rookie campaign on Toronto's top line with Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. He has 16 goals and 17 assists in 48 games. The Canadiens have the highest GAA in the league by a wide margin, and being on the second leg of a back-to-back won't help that in the slightest.
Marcus Johansson, SEA at VAN ($10): Johansson has averaged 2:41 per game with the extra man, having tallied eight power-play points as well. That bodes well in this matchup. The Canucks have the league's worst penalty kill.
WINGS TO AVOID
Blake Wheeler, WPG at COL ($20): Wheeler's 5.7 shooting percentage is remarkable at this point in the season, but he's bound to see some regression toward the mean there. Probably not against the Flames, though. Calgary has a league-low 2.35 GAA, and Jacob Markstrom has a .927 save percentage.
Cam Atkinson, PHI vs. CAR ($17): Atkinson started the season strong on the goal-scoring front, but he has only two goals over his last 13 games, and they came in the same night. While the Hurricanes are on the second leg of a back-to-back, they saved Frederik Andersen for this one. Andersen has a 2.10 GAA and .927 save percentage.
DEFENSE
Morgan Rielly, TOR at MON ($21): Rielly is having a stellar season, notching 42 points in 46 games with 126 shots on net. He also has 15 power-play points for good measure. The Canadiens are on the second leg of a back-to-back and even though their current top goalie Samuel Montembault will be in net for this one, he has a 3.81 GAA and .895 save percentage.
Rasmus Andersson, CGY vs. WPG ($19): Andersson has tallied 27 points in 48 games, including 11 in his last 14 contests. The Swede has also been shooting more, with 37 shots on net in those contests as well. Meanwhile, over his last 15 starts Connor Hellebuyck has a 3.07 GAA and .907 save percentage.
DEFENSE TO AVOID
Josh Morrissey, WPG at CGY ($18): I don't expect Morrissey to extend his three-game point streak to four. There's also an issue with the fact that 10 of his 21 points have come with the extra man. Calgary has the third-ranked penalty kill.
Charlie McAvoy, BOS vs. COL ($17): McAvoy has been held without a point in his last eight games. Now he'll likely face the red-hot Kuemper in net. Kuemper has an 1.42 GAA and .932 save percentage in his last 11 outings.
