Schedule Analysis: Heading into the Break

This article is part of our Schedule Analysis series.

It's heeere! The week we've been looking forward to for months now is upon us fantasy owners. Almost like a half day of school before entering into spring break vacation, the NHL will play three days before the league shuffles into Nashville for All-Star festivities and fantasy owners get a five-day reset period. Let's get you some trends for a productive week.

Back-to-Back Jacks
With just three days of action, aside from avoiding teams (Edmonton, St. Louis) with the entire week off, the usual premium on four-game teams is now on two-game teams. Additionally, eight out of the 10 teams will play their games on a back-to-backs.

1. Montreal Canadiens
Despite their own inefficiency, the Canadiens should get a pair of wins against the Jackets. Over the past two seasons, Montreal has won the last four between the two teams by a combined score of 13-6.
Combined record of 1-0 against this week's opponents

2. Arizona Coyotes
The Yotes hit the road against the Wild and Jets.
Combined record of 2-2 against this week's opponents

3. Boston Bruins
The B's travel to play the Flyers and host Anaheim.
Combined record of 0-1-1 against this week's opponents

4. Colorado Avalanche
The Avs make their way down the California coastline to play against the Sharks and Kings on consecutive nights.
Combined record of 2-2 against this week's opponents

5. Calgary Flames
The Flames finish out their five-game road trip against the Stars, have a day off and then host the Preds on

10. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Jackets get the task of not only playing on back-to-back nights to start the week, but in a traditional home-and-home with the Canadiens.

The Flop
Underscoring some nightly trends and juicy matchups, allowing fantasy owners in any format an opportunity to gain the edge.

Monday: Meeting for the first time this season, though Buffalo is a much more disciplined team and vice versa can be said about the Rangers, Buffalo was outscored 11-3 in three losses last season.

Tuesday: San Jose and Colorado have combined for 16 goals in their two meetings this season.

Wednesday: I have no reason to believe Philadelphia will put up any better of a fight than their 5-2 loss to Washington in November.
