Sorry, folks — this will be short. A mountain biking "incident" sent me to emergency twice this weekend. I'm ok, no broken bones. But I've torn things that — if I put it in pixels — would make you puke.
You know it's bad when the nurses say, "Hey, I remember you from yesterday! That was BAD. How are you even eating?'
Pain — yes. But that's OK. I will heal. It's all about perspective. It could have been way worse. I still have my teeth.
I just won't have a video camera on for meetings any time soon.
So let's jump straight to the guys who caught my eye. Before the pain meds write something that sounds insane. Maybe they already did.
Viktor Arvidsson, LW/RW, Nashville (36 percent rostered Yahoo) – Prior to last season, Arvidsson averaged more than 30 goals per season in the previous three years. Hands like that don't just fall off. His shooting percentage is an abysmal 4.1 percent, but his game looks like it's warming up. Arvidsson had four points (one goal, three assists) in the four games heading into Saturday. A little luck on a few of those shots and he could surprise, as long as that ouch he suffered Saturday is temporary.
Kirby Dach, C, Chicago (24 percent) – Dach is finally healthy and he skated with Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat at Friday's practice. The kid is a future star and he just landed dream wingers. Need I
Sorry, folks — this will be short. A mountain biking "incident" sent me to emergency twice this weekend. I'm ok, no broken bones. But I've torn things that — if I put it in pixels — would make you puke.

Hands like that don't just fall off. His shooting percentage is an abysmal 4.1 percent, but his game looks like it's warming up. Kirby Dach, C, Chicago (24 percent) – Dach is finally healthy and he skated with Patrick Kane and Alex DeBrincat at Friday's practice. The kid is a future star and he just landed dream wingers. Need I say more?
Chris Driedger, G, Florida (52 percent) – This is pure speculation. Driedger is a massive trade chit for a team that won't likely be able to protect him in the expansion draft. Heading into Sunday's game, Driedger was 10-4 with elite ratios. His GAA was 2.18 and save percentage was .927. He likely won't start if he gets traded, but he could steal games for a team desperate to win.
Alex Galchenyuk, LW/C, Toronto (5 percent) – Yes, he's been a disappointment. Yes, that talent seems wasted. But he's been gifted an opportunity to show he's closer to the 56-point guy he was in Montreal than the journeyman he's become. Galchenyuk is playing on the Leafs' second line with John Tavares and William Nylander. That line got better and better Friday night and that could spell good things for Galchenyuk.
Calle Jarnkrok, LW/RW, Nashville (8 percent) – So much promise, so little follow through. It's been the story of Jarnkrok's career. But he's roster worthy when he's in the middle of a run and that's where he is now. He had two goals and two assists, including two power-play points, in four games heading into Sunday's postponed tilt. Jarnkrok is never consistent enough to stay rostered, but short-term, he can help.
Connor Murphy, D, Chicago (12 percent) – Murphy has arguably been the Hawks' steadiest defender this season. He won't wow you, but he won't hurt you either. And he quietly delivers. Murphy had four assists in his last six games heading into Saturday. He was also plus-4 with six shots, 23 hits and 22 blocked shots in that span. Murphy won't give you anything on the PP, but your bottom defender is unlikely to do that anyway.
Rasmus Ristolainen, D, Buffalo (53 percent) – Stop laughing. Look past his abysmal plus/minus and in his last three games, Ristolainen has two assists, a plus-6 rating, 10 hits and six blocked shots. And the Sabres have two wins! They only have pride to play for, so who knows — they might pull things out (a little) over the next week or so. Ristolainen will be one of their leaders if they do.
Alexander Wennberg, LW/C, Florida (15 percent Yahoo!) – You hit the jackpot if you had Wennberg active Saturday. He put up his first NHL hattie against his old squad and looked every part a sniper doing it. Add the April fool's goal he put up against Detroit and he's officially on a roll. Wennberg has a 59-point season in his career. He's not that now, but he's no stiff, either. And the Panthers are amazing.
Until next week.
