Tournament Preview
The European Tour heads to Muscat this week for the Oman Open. The tournament is being contested at Al Mouj Golf again this year. This is only the second year for this event, so not much course history to go off. Some golfers however have seen this course when it was on the Challenge Tour, prior to last year. Al Mouj Golf is a links style course set on the coastline of the Gulf of Oman. It is an undulating course with bunkers, dunes and water hazards throughout. Wind is the primary defense of the coarse. It is looking like wind will play a factor by the weekend, if the forecast holds up. Last years' results showed that ball striking and solid putting were the keys to finishing strong at Al Mouj Golf.

2018 - Joost Luiten
DraftKings Picks
Joost Luiten $11,100 (9/1)
Luiten returns to defend his title as the betting favorite. He is coming off of a T10 at WGC- Mexico, where he shot 64 on Sunday. He's had a strong start to the calendar year with multiple high finishes and one missed cut. His ball striking has been elite and hopefully that will continue. The one concern could be the effect of jet lag heading back east after Mexico, but with his solid form I am willing to roll the dice.
Ross Fisher $10,100 (25/1)
Fisher has quietly had a good start to the year and is someone to keep your eye on now that he is rounding back into form. His first three tournaments to start the year were T54, T24 and T13, most recently. He is a superb ball striker and is ranked first on tour in SG: approach. Fisher did not compete at Oman Open last year, but is an excellent links golfer and will have no problem handling the wind.
Marcus Kinhult $7,900 (33/1)
This appears to be a good opportunity for Kinhult. He arrives at Al Mouj Golf after a T18 last time out. He finished T16 at Oman Open last year and was solo 2nd in 2017 when this course was part of the Challenge Tour. He obviously can succeed on this course and just needs everything to click for him. His putter has been hot as of late.
Edoardo Molinari $6,100 (250/1)
My bottom tier pick is none other than Edoardo Molinari. There is high risk dropping this low in price, but it is necessary if you want to fit in multiple top tier golfers. The numbers aren't great for Molinari, which is why he is priced here, yet there are some encouraging signs. The first is his recent form, he finished T34 last start, shooting 66 on Sunday. Another thing to consider is he finished T16 last year at Al Mouj Golf. He is accurate off the tee and thrives on coastal courses where wind comes into play.
