2025 Fantasy Outlook
Better suited for points leagues, Barrett has finished inside the top 150 in eight-category leagues only once in six years. The only time he reached that plateau was during his sophomore campaign with the Knicks in 2020-21, when he made 72 regular-season appearances and shot a career-high 40.1 percent from deep. The lack of production in category leagues is due to missed time (58 regular-season appearances in each of the last two seasons), lackluster defense (career-high 1.3 stocks as a rookie) and poor shooting percentages. He appears to have turned a corner in the efficiency department since joining the Raptors. After a mid-season trade to Toronto in 2023-24, Barrett went from shooting 42.3 percent with the Knicks through 26 games to 55.3 percent in 32 games with the Raptors. He wasn't able to replicate that during a full season, but his 46.8 percent mark last year was nearly three points higher than his best finish in New York. However, the real concern is Barrett's work from the charity stripe. Since joining Toronto, he's shot 63 percent. That was never the strongest part of his game, but he shot over 71 percent in each of his final three full seasons with the Knicks and was shooting 83.1 percent before the trade. Barrett wasn't the only Raptor to miss time in 2024-25, as Immanuel Quickley and Scottie Barnes also missed large chunks of the season due to injuries, plus Brandon Ingram, who was acquired at the trade deadline and given an extension, never made his debut. That allowed Barrett to handle more playmaking duties, and he finished with a career-high 5.4 assists per game. While his starting spot is secure to begin the campaign, there'll be plenty of mouths to feed in Toronto when everyone is healthy, and if Barrett's efficiency slips again, he may be the odd man out at the top in terms of usage. Steps up in fourth quarter
Barrett finished Wednesday's 97-96 win over the Hornets with 28 points (12-25 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one steal over 35 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Barrett stepped up in a big way for the Raptors after Brandon Ingram left in the first half due to a right thumb sprain, with the former scoring 16 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter to help spur the Raptors' come-from-behind victory. Scottie Barnes also briefly left the game due to a right knee injury before returning late in the fourth frame, which was another big reason for Barrett taking a larger scoring role in Toronto's victory. Barrett's return has been crucial for the Raptors, who have won 10 of their last 11 games in contests that the 2019 first-rounder has played in, per Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca. In his five outings since returning from a sprained right knee that cost him 16 games, Barrett has averaged 20.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.0 threes and 1.0 steals over 28.9 minutes per contest.

Despite finishing just inside the top 200 in standard fantasy formats, Barrett managed to increase his numbers across the board during the 2023-24 season. A mid-season move to Toronto seemed to revitalize Barrett, providing him with an opportunity to take on more of a leadership role both on and off the court. He finished the season by scoring at least 25 points in four of his final six games, albeit six games interrupted by a leave of absence due to personal reasons. He finished with averages of 20.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 three-pointers, all serviceable numbers. However, his efficiency took the biggest steps, shooting a career-best 49.5 percent from the field. Given his previous best was 44.1 percent during his sophomore season, managers may want to pause before assuming that he will repeat that performance this season. With that said, his role in Toronto figures to be significant, making him someone to consider towards the end of drafts. If you can stomach his poor free-throw shooting and lack of defensive stats, there could be some meat on the bone moving forward.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could draw interest
There could be sizable interest in Barrett if the Raptors decide to move him before the Feb. 5 trade deadline, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
ANALYSIS
There's a lack of high-level wing talent on the trade market, so Barrett would instantly become one of the most sought-after players if he's made available. The Bucks were interested in him last season, and they could make another run at him if that's the case. Barrett has been linked to the Mavericks in the past as well.
