2025 Fantasy Outlook
Running backs with 4.7 speed rarely receive starting consideration in the NFL – most of them have been moved to fullback by then – but Skattebo (5-foot-10, 219 pounds) could prove an exceptional case. He was outrageously productive at Arizona State and Sacramento State, leading the Giants to select him with the third pick in the fourth round of the 2025 Draft (105th overall). If Skattebo can make it in the NFL, it would likely be due to his extremely powerful running in traffic and standout short-area explosiveness. As bad as his 40 time is, Skattebo plays a tick faster thanks to his instant, almost infallible processing and powerful burst (39.5-inch vertical, 123-inch broad jump). In other words, Skattebo can't run away from anyone but might be able to dice up defenses with chunk gains. He runs with rare hostility and instantly lowers his center of gravity to absorb contact with impressive leverage, making it difficult for defenses to trap him once he gets to the second level. Tyrone Tracy was a promising pick for the Giants in 2024 and could remain their starter, but Skattebo is the much more powerful and volume-capable player of the two. With workhorse potential and standout pass-catching ability, Skattebo has big-time fantasy upside despite his 4.7 40 and the presence of Tracy. Read Past Outlooks
RANKS
Tops 100 scrimmage yards in loss
Skattebo carried the ball 15 times for 59 yards and caught six of seven targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Saints.
ANALYSIS
The rookie RB topped 100 scrimmage yards for the second time in the last three games, but Skattebo's performance was marred by a lost fumble in the red zone that New Orleans safety Jordan Howden returned 86 yards for a TD -- the third of five straight Giant possessions that ended in a turnover. Skattebo is locking down the top job in the New York backfield while Tyrone Tracy (shoulder) is sidelined, and over those last three contests he's racked up 315 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown. Even if Tracy remains on the shelf in Week 6, Skattebo will face a tough test against the Eagles.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Part of camp RB competition
Skattebo is likely in a battle with Devin Singletary for the backup running back role , Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Carroll believes Tyrone Tracy will be treated as the starter throughout training camp, leaving Skattebo and Singletary to battle for the backup role. Tracy is the fastest option in the backfield for the Giants, but Skattebo is hoping to form a "thunder and lightning" tandem as a more powerful complement to Tracy's speed. In order to do so, Skattebo will need to beat out the veteran Singletary.
