2024 Fantasy Outlook
Goedert set a career high with 59 catches last year and was four targets short of his previous best, despite missing three games with a fractured forearm. It didn't amount to much for fantasy purposes, as he averaged a career-low 10.0 yards per catch while seeing his aDOT (5.3) drop for a second straight year and his YAC average (5.3) go down by 1.9 yards compared to the previous season. A lack of big plays left Goedert with his fewest total yards (592) since 2020 and his worst per-game average (42.3) since 2019. The 6-foot-5 tight end scored exactly three touchdowns for a third time in the past four seasons, while QB Jalen Hurts had double-digit rushing TDs for the third consecutive season and threw 14 of his 23 passing scores to A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith. It's certainly possible Goedert's efficiency rebounds this year, but he may also drop down another notch on Philadelphia's volume totem pole with dual-threat RB Saquon Barkley joining the offense. Leads pass catchers in loss
Goedert brought in seven of eight targets for 62 yards in the Eagles' 33-16 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
With A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) both sidelined, Goedert unsurprisingly led the Eagles in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon. The talented tight end was coming off a stellar 10-catch, 170-yard performance against the Saints in Week 3, and although his numbers were markedly less spectacular Sunday, he still provided fantasy managers with a useful tally. As successful as Goedert has been the last two games, his target share is almost certain to take a hit in a Week 6 home matchup against the Browns on Sunday, Oct. 13 following a Week 5 bye, considering there's a good chance at least one of the aforementioned wideouts will be able to suit up for that contest.

Goedert’s been remarkably consistent, scoring between three and five touchdowns in each of his five NFL seasons and catching 46-to-58 passes each of the past four. He's increased his receiving yards per game with each passing year and is coming off back-to-back seasons with better than 10 yards per target, but some of the progress has been obscured by 10 missed games over the past three years. After topping out at 607 receiving yards while working behind Zach Ertz for the first two and a half years of his career, Goedert had a career-high 830 yards in 2021 and reached 50 per game for the first time (55.3), before averaging 58.5 per game in 2022 while missing five weeks with a shoulder injury. Philadelphia’s defense and backfield underwent some big changes in the offseason, but the passing attack and offensive line look much the same as last year. Goedert remains a strong third option behind WRs AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith in an offense that got less than 1,000 receiving yards from all other players combined last year. With quarterback Jalen Hurts moving into the upper tier of NFL quarterback, Goedert should challenge/best many of his career highs if he stays relatively healthy.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Excited to play under new OC
Speaking to Jeff Neiburg of The Philadelphia Inquirer on Saturday, Goedert praised offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, and the veteran tight end is optimistic that the new scheme will "play in favor of the tight end," Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Goedert added that he's "really excited for how [Moore] uses the tight ends and how they can be a big part of the offense." Goedert has been the definition of consistency for the Eagles, recording 55 catches or more in four of the last five seasons. Despite missing three games in 2023 due to a fractured forearm, he finished with 59 catches for 592 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season. Bergman notes that then-Chargers tight end Gerald Everett tied for second on the team with 51 receptions in 2023 with Moore as the offensive coordinator, while Donald Parham had a career year with 27 catches for 285 yards and four touchdowns.
