After Cam Akers and Michael Thomas got the news cycle off to a fast start this week, Saturday offered a day for fantasy managers to take a deep breath and collect themselves. It was a relatively slow news day, but there's always something worth talking about at this time of year as training camps get underway.

•  Javonte Williams signed his rookie contract, falling on the same day that Broncos rookies must report to training camp. Although the transition from college to the pros may be less steep at running back compared to other positions, it's still, of course, good news that Williams should miss next to no time in camp. Williams figures to start the season backing up Melvin Gordon, though his role could increase as the season moves on.

•  Both Cameron Brate and Justin Watson of the Buccaneers were placed on the PUP list Saturday. The reason for Brate's absence is undisclosed, though he can be activated at any point during camp. With O.J. Howard and Rob Gronkowski in the fold, Brate isn't likely to play a significant role in the offense. Watson underwent a surgical procedure on his knee and is projected to miss the next four months. His injury should help solidify the roster spot of fourth-round rookie Jaelon Darden.

•  There's been plenty of hype surrounding the Bengals offense thanks to the projected return of Joe Burrow and the talent the team brought in during the draft both at wide receiver and along the offensive line. Wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase was the headliner of that group and is already being hyped by Burrow, his college teammate. Chase gained praise for his ability to gain separation and get to the right spots on the field during summer workouts. The real test will begin in training camp, with the Bengals rookies required to report by July 26. Chase will join Tyler Boyd and Tee Higgins to form what could be one of the most exciting wide receiver trios in the league all while taking part in a pass-heavy and fast-paced offense.
