Panthers vs. Rams Betting Odds, Picks and Predictions for Wild Card Weekend

The NFL playoffs begin with two games Saturday, one of which features the Panthers hosting the Rams. It will be their second meeting this season after the Panthers pulled off the upset with a win over the Rams in Week 13. Let's break down this matchup and highlight three wagers to consider.

Mike Barner's season record: 50-45 (-5.23 units)

Panthers vs. Rams Betting Odds

Panthers: Spread +10.5 (-110 Caesars), +460 Moneyline (FanDuel)
Rams: Spread -10.5 (-105 DraftKings), -575 Moneyline (Fanatics)
Game Total: Over 45.5 (-110 Fanatics), Under 46.5 (-118 FanDuel)

Davante Adams (hamstring) is slated to make his return for the Rams after missing the final three games of the regular season. The Panthers don't have any injuries of note among their top offensive skill players.

Panthers vs. Rams Betting Picks

Kyren Williams - Over 64.5 Rushing Yards (-114 FanDuel)

Blake Corum was more involved down the stretch for the Rams, but his presence didn't have a negative impact on Williams. Over the final six games of the season, Williams finished with at least 70 rushing yards five times. With regards to this prop, Willliams posted at least 65 rushing yards in 13 of his 17 games.

When Williams faced the Panthers previously, he ran for 72 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. The Panthers allowed 4.59 yards per carry to running backs during the regular season, which was the ninth-highest mark in the league. In a game in which Williams could approach 15 rushing attempts, his chances of reaching at least 65 rushing yards are favorable.

Tetairoa McMillan - Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-114 FanDuel)

Bryce Young threw for at least 200 yards in only four of his 16 games. However, that didn't stop McMillan from reaching 1,000 receiving yards in his rookie season. McMillan was able to remain successful because he had a 25.8 percent target share and received 44.9 percent of the Panthers' air yards. Also helping his cause was his average depth of target of 11.7 yards.

McMillan only received two targets the last time he played the Rams, catching one of them for a 43-yard touchdown. He finished the regular season with at least 73 receiving yards in two of his final three games. Overall, he logged at least 60 receiving yards in a game nine times. Expect him to get more targets his second time facing the Rams, which could help him hit this over.

Bryce Young - Over 0.5 Interceptions (-109 DraftKings)

Young was picked off 11 times during the regular season. That included him throwing at least one interception in five of his last nine games. He wasn't intercepted by the Rams in Week 13, and he even tied his season high with three touchdown passes in that game.

While the Rams didn't pick off Young in their first meeting with the Panthers, they had 16 interceptions during the regular season. That tied them with the Falcons for the sixth-most in the league. If the Rams race out to a big lead early, then the Panthers might be forced to throw the ball more than they'd normally like to in the second half. If that scenario unfolds, there could be even more opportunities for Young to throw a pick. These are appealing odds to take a chance on this wager.

Panthers vs. Rams Prediction

It was shocking that the Panthers defeated the Rams during the regular season. It would be even crazier if they pulled off another win in the playoffs. It does help the Panthers that this game will also be played at home, where they went 5-3 this season. They were only 3-6 on the road. Still, look for the Rams to come out firing and avenge that regular season loss with a lopsided victory.

Rams 30, Panthers 17
