NFL Picks: Steelers, Bears and Texans

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

It was finally a good day for the staff with three 9-4-1 marks and two 7-6-1s. Erickson maintains a one-game lead over Stopa as a result.

We have three unanimous picks this week: the Bears, Texans and Steelers. The Texans and Steelers also happen to be best bets for four of the five writers.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving, i.e., let's hope you go 2-1 or better.

EricksonFiring Rob Ryan won't cure all of the Saints defensive ills... Is the Vikings-Falcons game the Fraud Bowl?... I understand why the Browns are a favorite - it's possible we'll find out how good Joe Flacco is now that he's out, like the Cowboys without Tony Romo. But the Browns are a special brand of dysfunction, and betting on them is like eating instant mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving - you just shouldn't do it.
PianowskiI would have made Seattle-Pittsburgh a straight three. I hope both teams make the playoffs, in front of some of those fraudulent teams with snappy records. Pro tip: Custard pie.
LissThe Texans are so obvious, it must be a trap. But I don't see it. If Blaine Gabbert can get 7.8 YPA and no picks in Seattle, what can Ben Roethlisberger do? Probably what Carson Palmer did two weeks ago. And the Browns are soft against the run, benched the only QB on their roster who could possibly take them to the playoffs one day for no good reason (fast forward to 54:30, NSFW) and draw an improved Ravens defense and probably a better all-around running back. All Baltimore has to do is hide Matt Schaub.
StopaI can get more than a FG and fade the Jaguars at the same time? Where do I sign?... The Ravens have nobody left, and the Browns are playing their best QB. That line should be more than 3. ... The Lions D has been legit since the bye. Mark Sanchez should make it three straight solid performances.
Del DonI see the Steelers/Seahawks game as about 50/50 who wins, so I'll gladly grab the points there. My other best bets of the week are the Texans and Bengals.
