  • With Ty Johnson (ankle) out again, James Cook played 64% of snaps and took 27 of the 29 RB opportunities.
    • Ray Davis had no carries and two targets across 27 snaps (35%). He took eight of 10 snaps on 3rd-and-medium/long.
  • WR Khalil Shakir was the only Bill above 57% route share, though four guys finished in the 52-57% range (Knox, Kincaid, Cooks, Coleman).

  • The Broncos have homefield advantage for the AFCCG, but they'll definitely be playing without QB Bo Nix (ankle) and probably without WR Pat Bryant (concussion). What's more, starting center Alex Forsyth (ankle) and WR Troy Franklin (hamstring) also left early with injuries Saturday.
  • WR Pat Bryant caught three passes for 32 yards on three snaps on the opening drive, but he took a hard hit and suffered a concussion on the third of those plays, bringing an early end to what might've otherwise been a breakthrough performance.
    • It was Bryant's second concussion in less than a month, after he was carted off the field and taken to a hospital during the closing minutes of a Week 16 loss to Jacksonville. He missed just one game, but he now figures to miss another.
  • WR Troy Franklin suffered a hamstring injury with 10-11 minutes remaining in the second quarter and missed the rest of the game.
  • After Franklin's exit, Courtland Sutton played 89% of remaining snaps in regulation, followed in short order by Marvin Mims (81%) and Lil'Jordan Humphrey (78%).
    • Elijah Moore was a healthy scratch, which meant the Broncos had just three WRs available once Bryant and Franklin left.
    • Mims stepped up big time with 8-93-1 on eight targets, while Sutton committed a pair of drops and finished with just 4-53-0 despite leading the team in targets (nine) and air yards (112).
  • RB RJ Harvey took just six carries to Jaleel McLaughlin's four, but Harvey played 63% of snaps (similar to recent weeks) and put up a 5-46-0 receiving line while seeing six of the nine RB targets. That's still slightly disappointing usage, but we could see more of Harvey and/or McLaughlin next week due to the Nix/Bryant/Franklin injuries.

  • TE Jake Tonges limped off the field after a non-contact injury. He didn't return, leaving Luke Farrell as the top tight end. Tonges still finished as San Francisco's leading receiver, easily, with 59 yards on a team-high-tying six targets.
  • WR Ricky Pearsall returned to a full-time role after missing the previous two games, but he finished with no catches on two targets.
  • The 49ers pulled a lot of starters, including Christian McCaffrey, midway through the fourth quarter. Rookie Jordan James played the final two drives.

  • RB Zach Charbonnet suffered a season-ending knee injury late in the second quarter, and LT Charles Cross left the game later on due to a foot injury.
    • RB Kenneth Walker played 76% of snaps and got all 15 RB opportunities between the time of Charbonnet's exit and the Seahawks pulling starters.
    • Velus Jones got all six of his carries on the final two drives while playing with other backups, but he did play a handful of snaps before that in relief of Walker, without getting any touches.
  • WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp accounted for nine of the 16 targets in game where Sam Darnold dropped back just 19 times.
    • Kupp was far ahead of Shaheed in snap share, but the route gap was smaller, and Shaheed took two carries for 27 yards (in addition to getting the blowout started with a kick return TD).

  • RB Woody Marks briefly left in the first half to be evaluated for a shoulder injury. He returned in short order and finished with a 68% snap share and 17 of 22 RB opportunities, albeit for just 36 yards.
    • Marks has earned a role moving forward, but it won't necessarily be the lead ballcarrier role.
  • With Nico Collins (concussion) inactive, each of Jayden Higgins, Xavier Hutchinson and Christian Kirk topped 85% route share. They combined for 12 catches on 31 targets.
  • TE Dalton Schultz suffered a calf injury in the first quarter and missed the rest of the game. Cade Stover took on a larger role, and also was used for QB sneaks, but he dropped a pass, and then later left with a knee injury (one that didn't look great).

  • RB Rhamondre Stevenson finished with a 61% snap share and 20 of 34 RB opportunities (59%), but it was a tale of two halves.
    • Before halftime, TreVeyon Henderson played 60% of snaps and took 10 of 14 RB opportunities, including eight of 11 carries. But he gained just 14 yards, while Stevenson had 34 yards on four touches.
    • After halftime, Stevenson played 87% of snaps and took 16 of 20 RB opportunities, gaining 47 yards. He took each of the final six carries.
    • I think we'll see Stevenson ahead of Henderson from the outset this Sunday in Denver. The veteran has been flat-out better than the rookie for the past month-plus.
  • WR DeMario Douglas scored a TD on one of his three targets, but he actually finished fifth among Patriots WRs in snap share (27%) while tying Kyle Williams for third in route share (44%). Douglas still only plays in 11 personnel, and he cedes some of those snaps to Williams/Chism.
  • WR Stefon Diggs was above 80% route share for a second straight week, with his six targets being a team high.
    • WR Kayshon Boutte also had a solid game, putting up 3-75-1 on five targets while leading the team in both route share (88%) and air yards (81%).

  • The Rams used 11 personnel on a season-high 90% of snaps.
    • Colby Parkinson easily led the tight ends in snap share (68%) and put up 3-56-0 on seven targets, but his 41% route share was far from ideal, with rookie Terrance Ferguson taking a lot of the snaps/routes in 11 personnel.
    • Tyler Higbee, meanwhile, played just 10% of snaps, though he did gain 27 yards on his lone reception.
  • RB Kyren Williams handled a larger-than-usual portion of the workload, playing 64% of snaps and taking 26 of 32 RB opportunities.
  • WRs Puka Nacua and Davante Adams tied for the team lead at 89% route share, with Jordan Whittington (54%) and Konata Mumpfield (52%) essentially sharing the No. 3 role.
  • The Rams will probably use multi-TE looks more often this Sunday at Seattle, facing a defense that likes to stay in nickel/dime. The heavy reliance on three-wide formations may have been an effort to expose Chicago's lack of speed in the secondary (though the Rams don't exactly have burners out wide).

  • The RB roles were similar to previous weeks, but with Kyle Monangai oddly having a 4-0 advantage in targets even though D'Andre Swift had a 25-11 edge in routes.
  • TE Colston Loveland suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter, putting Cole Kmet back into an every-down role in the lead up to his game-tying TD.
  • WR Luther Burden was again just the No. 3 receiver in terms of snaps/routes, though well ahead of No. 4 Olamide Zaccheaus.
