THE SLATE
Panathinaikos OPAP Athens at Zalgiris Kaunas
Status Check: Nemanja Nedovic (PAO), Joffrey Lauvergne (ZAL), Josh Nebo (ZAL), Paulius Jankunas (ZAL)
Best Bets for Success: The bad news for these two teams: their combined two victories are fewer than every other team's win total on the season. The good news: one of them will make another mark in the win column Tuesday. The Greek team has a couple players rolling into this one in Daryl Macon and Georgios Papagiannis. The former remains second in the league in scoring and will be primed for another productive evening, as he should get even more opportunities than usual with Nedovic out and will take on a Zalgiris team that ranks near the bottom against opposing guards in just about every department. Papagiannis is grabbing all kinds of rebounds in recent Rounds, and he won't have much size to contend with if Nebo remains out for the home team. Speaking of Nebo, he would easily be the top option for his team if he was healthy, particularly with Panathinaikos allowing opposing centers to stack up stats. However, he may not be 100 percent even if he takes the court, so he will carry plenty of risk in fantasy lineups. If you're looking for a safer play on the Zalgiris side, you could look at Lukas Lekavicius, who averaged a team-leading 22.1 DraftKings points over the last five Rounds. Zalgiris added a couple guards to the mix lately, but Lekavicius appears to have secured himself a regular playmaking role, averaging 6.0 assists and 11.0 shots from the field over the last three Rounds. Don't gloss over the fact he recorded his first EuroLeague double-double his last time out.
DFS Darlings: Panathinaikos has been allowing frontcourt players in general to do quite a bit of scoring and rebounding, so you could certainly consider Tyler Cavanaugh on the Lithuanian team. Cavanaugh is getting a bit pricey on DraftKings, but he did average 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds over the last two Rounds. If Nebo sits, Marek Blazevic would also be worth a look, as he would be Zalgiris' only healthy center. Tai Webster also earns a mention, as he would not have to do much more than he did in his Round 9 debut to return 3x value at $5,300. Given Nedovic's absence and Zalgiris' issues with opposing guards, Howard Sant-Roos and Kendrick Perry warrant consideration on the Greek team. Both have come through regularly when Nedovic has been sidelined or even limited, and neither will run you more than $6,800 on DraftKings.
Real Madrid at LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne
Status Check: Anthony Randolph (RMB), Trey Thompkins (RMB), Nigel Williams-Goss (RMB), Carlos Alocen (RMB), Jeffery Taylor (RMB), David Lighty (ASV), Raymar Morgan (ASV), Antoine Diot (ASV), Victor Wembanyama (ASV)
Best Bets for Success: You could make an argument that the league's best backcourt will take on the league's best frontcourt in this one, as ASVEL guards Elie Okobo and Chris Jones square off against Real Madrid big men Edy Tavares and Guerschon Yabusele. The matchups slightly favor the guards, as the Spanish squad is allowing opposing guards to get up plenty of shots and tally plenty of assists. Despite being the priciest player on the board, Okobo is still returning easily the most value on the board from a production standpoint. Meanwhile, ASVEL has been above average defensively against forwards and centers. Still, Tavares should be considered anytime he's under $10,000 and Yabusele will have some extra motivation facing his former squad.
DFS Darlings: Despite the lengthy injury list above, there aren't a ton of open opportunities on either side, and Marcos Knight -- who is not available Tuesday on DraftKings -- will claim some of them for ASVEL. Add to that the fact Real Madrid has been one of the best against opposing forwards and the opportunities for value plays look bleak. If Taylor is held out, though, Alberto Abalde could get consideration on DraftKings at $6,700.
Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade at Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz
Status Check: Alec Peters (BKN), Luka Mitrovic (CZV), Aaron White (CZV), Stefan Lazarevic (CZV)
Best Bets for Success: This matchup features two teams who are going in very different directions. With a win, the visitors will already be halfway to the 10 games they won all of last season. Meanwhile, the hosts, who own a negative-108 point differential this season, will be playing their first game since swapping head coaches. The coaching change -- from Dusko Ivanovic to Neven Spahija -- throws things out of whack for Baskonia from a fantasy perspective, particularly with only two players doing anything of note in Round 9. Given that Rokas Giedraitis is back at full speed and is the team's leading scorer, he seems like the safest option among the Baskonia bunch in Round 10. One reason Baskonia finds itself in its current situation is because they have been getting lit up by opposing forwards, as they rank bottom-3 against players at those positions in every counting stat and bottom-2 in both field goal percentage and three-point percentage allowed. As such, Nikola Kalinic will be the clear top pick for Red Star in this one. Kalinic capitalized on a plus matchup last week and put up 35.5 points on DraftKings, and he remains just $9,000 on that website.
DFS Darlings: Given the uncertainty on the Baskonia side and the fact the over/under on this game is notably lower than the other three, it will be tough to identify much for value plays. However, with Mitrovic out, Lazarevic uncertain and Baskonia struggling to contain forwards, Dejan Davidovac -- at just $5,600 -- will be an intriguing option. It has been a down season for Davidovac, but he is capable of producing, having put up 20 points on DraftKings nine times last season. You could also gamble on a $4,800 Marko Simonovic if Lazarevic winds up sidelined. Baskonia big man Steven Enoch will also be worth considering coming off a big Round 9. Baskonia's centers have rotated on nearly a game-by-game basis, but Red Star has been permitting opposing centers to do quite a bit, so Enoch will have a chance to back up his last performance if he gets the minutes.
Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul at FC Bayern Munich
Status Check: Danilo Barthel (FBB), Paul Zipser (BAY), Leon Radosevic (BAY), Zan Mark Sisko (BAY)
Best Bets for Success: This will be a pivotal matchup for both teams, with the winner climbing closer to .500 and the loser falling even further behind the league leaders. A number of Fenerbahce players have been listed here this season, but for Round 10 at least, Jan Vesely feels like the only true "bet for success." Vesely averaged a stellar 31.1 DraftKings points over the last four Rounds while the rest of his teammates were pretty inconsistent. Plus, Bayern is allowing guards to get up fewer shots than any other team and is containing them pretty well in general. On the other side, Fenerbache ranks at or near the bottom against opposing forwards in all counting stats, which sets up a potentially big night for Vladimir Lucic, who is just $9,200 on DraftKings. Darrun Hilliard had as tough a matchup as they come in Round 9, and he's a good bet to bounce back considering he averaged 18.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 3.1 threes over the seven Rounds prior to that.
DFS Darlings: Several Milan forwards capitalized on the matchup with Fenerbahce's defense last week, so beyond Lucic, Augustine Rubit and Deshaun Thomas will be plenty appealing as well. Neither is more than $8,100 on DraftKings. The Turkish team has a couple intriguing options based on price alone, with Dyshawn Pierre at $6,500 and Achille Polonara at $7,300 checking in cheaper than they have been all season.
