Friday

Panathinaikos OPAP Athens at Khimki Moscow Region

Key Injuries: Alexey Shved (KHI), Greg Monroe (KHI), Pierre Jackson (PAN), Howard Sant-Roos (PAN), Stefan Jovic (KHI)

Best Bets for Success: Shved is about as safe as fantasy options come when he's 100 percent, and Monroe is not far behind. However, both are game-time decisions, and even if either or both play they could be limited. Thus, the safest options on the Russian squad for Round 1 -- particularly if Monroe can't go -- seem to be Jonas Jerebko and Janis Timma, who both regularly put up big numbers over the back half of last season. Ioannis Papapetrou regularly scored the ball after putting up a career-high 39 points in Round 8, and with Panathinaikos' top three scorers from last season no longer on the roster and several of its offseason additions sidelined, the Greek team figures to lean on him Friday.

DFS Darlings: Konstantinos Mitoglou's playing time was inconsistent last season, but he did have a big double-double in Round 17 and added another one later in the year. Assuming he sees a starter's workload in Round 1 he should return value right out of the gate. Nemanja Nedovic missed time each of the last two seasons, but he is the only healthy Panathinaikos guard with any real EuroLeague experience and should get plenty of shots Friday. Should Shved sit out, consider Dairis Bertans on DraftKings at just $4,800.

Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade at Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul

Key Injuries: Leo Westermann (ULK)

Best Bets for Success: Nando de Colo scored in double figures in all but a handful of games for Fenerbahce last season and owns a career average of 16.0 ppg in EuroLeague play. Zvezda's roster underwent some big changes over the offseason, and just about everyone who did anything notable departed. New addition Jordan Loyd contributed regularly for Valencia last season and should step right into a key role with Red Star.

DFS Darlings: One of Red Star's departures was Lorenzo Brown, who linked up with none other than Fenerbahce. Brown checks in at $9,100 on DraftKings in Round 1, but he put up just as many or more fantasy points than most of the five-figure players and should have extra motivation facing his former team, making him a high-end bargain. A couple other dart throws are Corey Walden and Dyshawn Pierre, who are both EuroLeague rookies but proved capable of scoring with other international clubs over the last couple years.

AX Armani Exchange Milan at FC Bayern Munich

Key Injuries: Vladimir Micov (MIL), Kevin Punter (MIL)

Best Bets for Success: Milan is down a couple key players, so point guard Sergio Rodriguez should have the ball in his hands plenty. Malcolm Delaney did not play for Milan last season, but he easily scored in double figures over the back half of last season and should help pick up the slack. Bayern is a team in transition, but they can lean on Vladimir Lucic, who is the team's leading returning scorer.

DFS Darlings: Shavon Shields stepped up when needed each of the last two years with Baskonia, and Milan will need him to play a key role right away due to its injuries. Bayern big men Jalen Reynolds and Malcolm Thomas will both be counted on to fill in for the departed Greg Monroe, and whoever earns the starting nod will be worth a look on DraftKings at under $6,000.

Real Madrid at TD Systems Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz

Key Injuries: Sergio Llull (MAD), Zoran Dragic (BAS)

Best Bets for Success: This game is littered with big-time producers. For Madrid, Facundo Campazzo, Anthony Randolph and Walter Tavares all regularly got the job done in fantasy contests over the last couple season. Randolph did not play in Madrid's last few domestic-league games, so the other two players seem a little safer in Round 1. Rokas Giedraitis and Tonye Jekiri are new additions for Baskonia, but both were the best players on their teams last season and should fit in easily with their new squad.

DFS Darlings: Both of Baskonia's guards top guards look like values. Pierria Henry led the league in steals last season and does enough on the offensive end to get the job done. Luca Vildoza battled injuries last season, but he's healthy now, and at his best he is worth more than his $4,800 price on DraftKings suggests. Madrid's wealth of top-tier talent makes it tough for the rest of the roster to produce, but offseason addition Alberto Abalde seems like the perfect complement. He proved last season he can generate fantasy stats without putting up big numbers in the points column.
