Quarterback
Mike Reilly, EDM at WPG ($11,300): Reilly has no less than 31.0 fantasy points in any of his last four starts, throwing for at least 317 yards and multiple touchdowns in each of those contests. He also brings above-average rushing upside and faces a Blue Bombers secondary that's allowed the fourth-most passing yards (304.1) per game, and 300-yard passing tallies in five of their seven contests.
Ricky Ray, TOR vs. MTL ($9,600): Ray has been taking first-team reps in practice this week, lending credence to the idea that he'll be able to take the field against the Alouettes on Saturday afternoon. The veteran was red-hot before suffering a shoulder injury in Week 7, as he'd scored 26.58 and 30.54 fantasy points in his two prior starts. He's thrown for no less than 327 yards in any game in which he's played all four quarters and will be up against an Als secondary that's allowed 295.1 yards per game and has just one interception on the season.
Zach Collaros, HAM vs. OTT ($7,700): As erratic as Collaros' production can be, his price continues to sink, and he does have upside north of 20 fantasy points. The Ti-Cats offense has admittedly sputtered on multiple occasions this season, but a home matchup against a Redblacks defense that's given up the second-most passing yards (340.0) in the CFL could well serve as the impetus for one of Collaros' more productive performances.
Running Back
Jeremiah Johnson, BC vs. CGY ($7,500): Johnson's opportunities were significantly limited last week in a game that got out of hand for the Lions, but he has a chance for a rebound against a Calgary defense that's allowing the third-most rushing yards (93.9) in the CFL. What's more, despite getting only six touches last week, Johnson totaled 71 yards, providing a glimpse at the upside he offers in any game script. Notably, he also scored double-digit fantasy points in every other game this season before last week's blowout loss.
Andrew Harris, WPG vs. EDM ($7,300): Harris continues to be an every-week play, with last week's season-best 107-yard rushing effort serving as the latest testament to his upside. The versatile back is averaging 25.3 fantasy points at home this season as well, and faces an Eskimos defense whose secondary has been so effective (league-low 233.6 passing yards allowed per game) that they funnel plenty of action to the ground attack and short outlet passes. Both of those play right into Harris' hands, especially considering his proficiency as a safety valve for quarterback Matt Nichols out of the backfield.
Tyrell Sutton, MTL at TOR ($6,600): Sutton is one of the steadier running back options in the league, having scored between 12.3 and 20.0 fantasy points in four of the five games he's seen action in. The talented back has a modest but consistent presence in the passing game as well, and was impressive against the Argos last week with 15 rushes for 66 yards and three receptions for 27 yards. The Toronto defense has also been just middle-of-the-pack versus the rush, allowing 83.3 yards on the ground per contest and not yet having forced a fumble.
Wide Receiver/Slotback
Vidal Hazelton, EDM at WPG ($8,400): Hazelton offers a nice discount over some of the top-tier options and will enjoy a bump up in value if Brandon Zylstra (undisclosed) misses Thursday's contest, which looks increasingly likely. Not only has Hazelton shown some solid upside in two of his last three contests with tallies of 34.9 and 19.8 fantasy points, respectively, but he draws a matchup against a Bombers secondary that's allowed the fourth-most passing yards (304.1) and a whopping 12 touchdowns to receivers over seven games.
Marquay McDaniel, CGY at BC ($7,900): McDaniel scored a season-high 27.7 fantasy points in the Stamps' last contest in Week 7, his second game with over 20 fantasy points on the season. He's scored at least 13.8 fantasy points in four of Calgary's six games, while the Lions secondary allows the third-most passing yards (307.5) in the CFL and has surrendered five touchdowns through the air in the last two games alone.
Bryant Mitchell, EDM at WPG ($5,700): Mitchell was perhaps the top value play in Week 8, compiling 21.4 fantasy points at a price of just $4,500. Even with the salary boost this week, he makes for a viable play again, considering the potential aforementioned absence of Brandon Zylstra. Mitchell has been productive with Zylstra in the lineup anyhow, as he posted 20.6 fantasy points against the Ti-Cats in Week 5 alongside his talented teammate. He's totaled 15 receptions and 235 yards in his last two weeks and should be in line for another productive matchup against a vulnerable Lions secondary.
Damarr Aultman, HAM vs. OTT ($4,900): Aultman has 16.95 and 15.2 fantasy points in his last two games, but he remains bargain-priced for a matchup against a Redblacks secondary that's allowed 340 passing yards per game and 11 receiving touchdowns on the season. With the Ti-Cats offense needing all the playmakers it can muster – as well as with the team desperate to secure their first win in front of their home crowd -- Aultman could be in line for a target share that allows him to return strong value on his sub-$5K price.
Team Defense
Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions ($4,900): The Stamps defense already has four double-digit fantasy-point tallies this season, in part due to impressive tallies of 18 sacks and eight interceptions. The Lions offense isn't likely to look as lost as they did last week against the Riders, but they could be down two talented receivers in Nick Moore and Bryan Burnham. Additionally, the Lions offense is far and away the most turnover-prone in the CFL, already having handed the ball over to the opposition on 18 occasions.
