2025 Fantasy Outlook
Charbonnet is likely overqualified as the RB2 in Seattle behind Kenneth Walker, and when the latter missed time in 2024 due to injury, the former demonstrated his value. Charbonnet was good enough as a spot starter in Walker's place to potentially make their workload split more even in 2025 than it was in 2023 or 2024 – years in which Walker got most of the touches and Charbonnet got little more than passing-down scraps. Walker is the more explosive runner, but Charbonnet's combination of passing-down skills and size (6-foot-1, 214 pounds) arguably makes him just as valuable. The Seahawks could very well give both RBs large workloads in 2025 under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, because new quarterback Sam Darnold struggles to deal with pressure and doesn't have great receiving weapons. In such a scenario, Charbonnet might provide FLEX utility even when Walker is healthy, in addition to the usual RB1 upside if Walker were to miss time. Charbonnet scored six touchdowns in his six starts last season, with 66 or more yards from scrimmage in each game. Read Past Outlooks

Hits pay dirt twice on MNF
Charbonnet took 12 carries for 49 yards and two touchdowns while catching both of his targets for six yards in Monday's 27-19 win over Houston.
ANALYSIS
Charbonnet was the money-maker out of Seattle's talented backfield duo Monday, cashing in both of his team's rushing touchdowns on the evening. Kenneth Walker (17-66-0) received five more carries and was the game's leading rusher, but it is obvious which stat line fantasy GMs would have preferred in Week 7. Charbonnet has five touchdowns in six games, but his usage in short yardage and at the goal line has contributed to a career-worst 2.8 YPC. The skilled backup should continue generating flex value when the Seahawks come out of a Week 8 bye to face the Commanders on Nov. 2.

Charbonnet might eventually gain on Kenneth Walker in the competition for carries in the Seattle backfield, but in 2023 there was a clear division of labor in which Walker dominated the important carries while Charbonnet handled passing downs and some low-leverage carries. It wasn't enough for Charbonnet to establish fantasy value apart from the two games Walker missed, as the rookie second-round pick spent a lot of time blocking and was targeted just 30 times. As long as Charbonnet is just a passing-down player for the Seahawks, it will be difficult for him to establish mainstream fantasy value, though his college production and 214-pound frame suggest he'd at least be busy if Walker were to miss games. The UCLA standout and 2023 second-round pick produced like a starting NFL running back in college and backed it up with solid athletic testing, but the same can be said of Walker, who was also a second-round pick (in 2022). Charbonnet specifically needs to gain ground on Walker in the rushing rotation to carve out fantasy relevance that isn't entirely dependent on his backfield mate missing time.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Team satisfied with timeshare
The Seahawks have been happy with the split running back workload between Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker and have no plans to deviate from that approach, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano.
ANALYSIS
Charbonnet's averaging an unimpressive 2.6 yards per carry, but he has scored three rushing touchdowns while compiling 156 yards on his 60 rushing attempts in five appearances this season. Walker has rushed 78 times for 364 yards and three touchdowns in six games, averaging 13 carries per game to Charbonnet's 12. Despite their disparity in efficiency, both running backs are projected to remain heavily involved moving forward, as Seattle's platoon backfield approach has helped the Seahawks get off to a strong 4-2 start.
