DraftKings CFL: Division Finals Cheat Sheet

DraftKings CFL: Division Finals Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings CFL DFS Picks series.

We're now just a step away from the Grey Cup, with the final four ready to battle it out Sunday in the division finals. We have two intriguing matchups in Tiger-Cats-Argonauts and Roughriders-Blue Bombers, and plenty of solid choices across the salary scale at each position, including several with favorable regular-season track records against the team they'll be facing.

DraftKings CFL Plays- Division Finals Round

Quarterback

Jeremiah Masoli, HAM at TOR ($10,700): Masoli posted 27.7 and 19.7 DK points in his two encounters with the Argonauts this season, throwing for over 300 yards in both contests and supplementing that production with 60 rushing yards overall. Toronto struggled against the pass all season, allowing 259.5 passing yards per contest, the third-most touchdown passes (19) and the most completions of over 30 yards overall (24). Masoli averaged a solid 18.6 DK points across four road games this season and should be in position to once again deliver a strong return against Toronto.

Zach Collaros, WPG vs. SSK ($9,900): Collaros makes for an appealing value pivot in a matchup versus a Roughriders defense that allowed a CFL-high 273.6 passing yards per game during the regular season, along with the second-highest completion percentage (67.7), passer efficiency rating (95.7) and average yards per attempt (8.8), along with the second-most touchdown passes (22). Collaros averaged 17.1 DK points and posted a 12:2 TD:INT across seven home games, and he scored a solid 15.9 and 19.1 DK points in his two games against the Roughriders during the regular season.

ALSO CONSIDER: McLeod Bethel-Thompson, TOR vs. HAM ($9,700)

Running Back

William Powell, SSK at WPG ($10,300): Powell's locked-in workload and pair of efficient showings against the Blue Bombers this season put him firmly in play at the thin running back position, despite his hefty salary. The veteran posted 132 yards at 5.1 yards per carry in two games versus Winnipeg during the 2021 campaign, and he's now averaging 13 DK points per contest after posting 19.8 in the win against the Stampeders during the West Division Semi-Final. Powell also has a very secure role in the passing game, as he drew multiple targets in all but two regular-season contests and logged a season-high nine last week against Calgary. The Bombers allowed just 86.6 rushing yards per game, but they allowed 5.0 yards per carry and could certainly concede solid production to Powell given the volume he'll likely see.

Don Jackson, HAM at TOR ($7,900): Jackson continued to produce in the East Division Semi-Final win over the Alouettes on Sunday, posting 14.1 DK points on the strength of 61 total yards and a rushing touchdown. The versatile back has now logged double-digit carries in four consecutive games going back to Week 13, producing 17.2, 17.6 and 21.0 DK points in the other three contests during that sample. Those are excellent returns at his salary, and a matchup against an Argos defense that allowed the third-most rushing yards per game (111.6) at a CFL-high 5.7 yards per carry could certainly coax another fruitful fantasy effort out of him.

ALSO CONSIDER: Andrew Harris, WPG vs. SSK ($9,600)

Wide Receiver/Slotback

Kenny Lawler, WPG vs. SSK ($10,300): Lawler serves as excellent exposure to the Roughriders vulnerable pass defense, with numerous metrics enumerating the unit's weakness already provided in Collaros' entry. Lawler scored 20.7 DK points against Saskatchewan the most recent time he saw them Week 6 on the strength of a 5-97-1 line, and he also flashed a ceiling north of 40 DK points this regular season. His considerable upside should have a solid chance of emerging against the Riders' secondary, which, in addition to the numbers already cited previously, also tied with the Argonauts for most completions of 30 yards or greater allowed (24).

Kurleigh Gittens, TOR vs. HAM ($7,600): Gittens makes for an intriguing mid-salary play at receiver/slotback due to his matchup and steady target share. The 24-year-old posted a career-best 50-604-4 line during the regular season in 14 games, and he finished the campaign scoring over 20 DK points in three of his last five games, with a tally of 16.8 in another contest during that span. Gittens faced the Ti-Cats on four occasions overall during the regular season and posted over 20 DK points in two of those games, posting 14.8 in a third meeting. With Hamilton surrendering 249.2 passing yards per contest and the third-most completions (310) this season, Gittens could well be poised to strike again in Sunday's do-or-die showdown.

Tim White, HAM at TOR ($7,400): White posted another solid fantasy output in Sunday's East Division Semi-Final win over the Alouettes, compiling 9.4 DK points. The CFL rookie finished the regular season with double-digit DK-point tallies in four of his last five games as well, and he recorded between 60 and 110 receiving yards in three of his four games versus the Argonauts while also producing a season-high 21.9 DK points in his Week 5 encounter with Toronto. The Argos' various vulnerabilities against the pass were already enumerated in Masoli's entry, further supporting the notion of White turning in another strong return.

ALSO CONSIDER: Duke Williams, SSK at WPG ($6,800)

Team Defense

Winnipeg Blue Bombers ($6,200) vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders: While I recommended Powell and also have Duke Williams listed as an additional consideration at receiver, I still like the Bombers defense to be worth the hefty investment Sunday. Winnipeg will have the benefit of coming off a first-round bye and the advantage of home field, where they averaged an outstanding 14.6 DK points across seven contests while giving up just 284.7 total yards and 8.0 points per game. Winnipeg scored 13.0 and 10.0 DK points in its two games versus the Riders this season as well and finished first in turnovers forced (38), turnover ratio (+18), points off turnovers (101), points per game allowed (13.4) and total TDs allowed (16).
