Puka Nacua

24-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Los Angeles Rams
2025 Fantasy Outlook
After setting the rookie record for receiving yards, Nacua was even more productive on a per-game basis in his second pro season, averaging 7.2 catches for 90.0 yards even though a knee injury cost him five games and limited his snaps in three others. His 2024 average of 3.7 yards per route run was a league high, well above his 2.7 YPRR (8th) in 2023. Nacua is one of the strongest and most physical wide receivers in the league, with his ability to break tackles and win contested catches more than making up for average speed. He's a perfect fit in Sean McVay's offense, although the competition for targets got slightly tougher this offseason when the Rams swapped out a post-prime Cooper Kupp for a post-prime Davante Adams. It's otherwise a fantastic situation, as the team lacks secondary receivers that demand considerable target shares and still has QB Matthew Stafford playing at a reasonably high level. The two drawbacks are a sketchy injury history dating back to college and a lack of touchdowns (nine on 184 career receptions), but there are only a handful of WRs that project for similar quantities of catches and yards per game. Double-digit catch total in OT loss
WRLos Angeles Rams
October 2, 2025
Nacua secured 10 of 12 targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Rams' 26-23 overtime loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.
ANALYSIS
Nacua was in the customary position of leading the Rams in receptions and targets while checking in second in receiving yards. The prolific pass catcher also brought in one of Matthew Stafford's three touchdown passes, recording a one-yard scoring grab with just under four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Nacua now has three consecutive double-digit reception and target totals, and he's recorded both his touchdowns this season in the last pair of contests. Nacua will remain Stafford's most reliable target in a Week 6 road matchup against the Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 12.

2024
2023
Nacua came into the NFL as a fifth-round pick and had nearly as many receiving yards (1,486) in his rookie season as in all four years of his college career combined (1,749). It helped that he played all 17 games, after averaging eight between his time at Washington and BYU. It also helped to have QB Matthew Stafford and HC Sean McVay on his side, and WR Cooper Kupp's hamstring injury in September contributed to Nacua drawing 52 targets over his first four games. After that, Nacua averaged 5.2 catches for 78.7 yards on 8.6 targets in the 12 games both he and Kupp played, continuing to flirt with fantasy WR1 status. Kupp averaged 4.9 catches for 61.4 yards on 7.9 targets in those same 12 games, and it was Nacua who exploded for 9-181-1 in a wild-card loss to the Lions, setting a single-game rookie receiving record for the playoffs (after breaking the season-long record a week earlier). Nacua did most of his damage on short and intermediate passes, but he was efficient with his deep chances as well, catching 10 of 17 targets 20-plus yards downfield. He looked a step quicker than his 4.57 40 time suggests, though it was his strength, toughness and agility that really stood out while he recorded the fourth most yards after catch (689, 6.4 average) among WRs. Kupp has already shown that a receiver can post huge numbers under McVay/Stafford without top-notch athletic traits, and Nacua appears to be the new No. 1 in an efficient offense that's heavily concentrated among its star players.
The fifth-rounder out of BYU didn't post earth-shattering numbers in college, but his versatility as both a receiver and a rushing option (25-209-5 rushing line as a senior) along with good height and size makes Nacua a flexible option for new offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur. Nacua has worked his way into the competition for the No. 3 wide receiver role, and should find a few targets behind Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson in a weak Rams offense.

Intriguing remarks about rival
WRLos Angeles Rams
April 18, 2025
Nacua recently opined that the division-rival 49ers' championship window "closes" if San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy were to receive a contract extension worth more $50 million or more annually, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Appearing on former NFL receiver Julian Edelman's Games With Names podcast, Nacua was asked by the host if he thought Purdy deserved a new deal that averaged in the high "40 millions per year." Nacua responded by saying the "mid-4s" would be more appropriate and added that compensating him much more beyond that point would compromise the 49ers' cap situation enough to prevent them from remaining a contender for the foreseeable future.
