We navigated a tough Sunday slate with a winning 2-1 day and I have to say I'm quite pleased! With those results, we gained a unit and now stand at 34-26/+8 on the season. Today, college hoops celebrates MLK Jr. Day their way with games starting at 11am EST and go throughout the evening. Much of the action is out east and that's where our concentration will be as we hit up the America East, NEC, and the A-10 for winners today. Let's get to it!

Vermont Catamounts at Albany Great Danes
Vermont is the clear class of the America East Conference and are off to a 3-0 start in league play. At No. 208 on KenPom, the Catamounts are the only team close to Top 200 status and feature P5 journeyman Gus Yalden who seems to have found a home in the northeast. The Gus Bus leads the country in percentage of shots taken (38.2%) and is second in the country in possession usage (35.5%). His team has dominated bad teams and at No. 303, U Albany ranks among them. The Danes have benefited from a favorable early conference schedule and have struggled against better teams. I don't see this one being particularly close.

Central Connecticut Blue Devils at Mercyhurst Lakers
Once again, Patrick Sellers has his Blue Devils playing well. Central has yet to lose to a team outside the Top 300 and Mercyhurst sits in that range at No. 315. The methodical and offensively-challenged Lakers have not put up much of a fight against the better teams they have played. CConn went 2-0 in this series last year with wins of 10 and 12 and that seems about right for today's result. The wrong team is favored here.

George Mason Patriots vs George Washington Revolutionaries
George Mason just keeps winning year after year after year. Tony Skinn has kept the strong coaching tradition alive at Mason as he has his team sitting at 17-1 overall and 5-0 in the A10. The Patriots' only loss was at No. 53 Virginia Tech, offset with Top 100 wins over No. 91 Florida Atlantic and No. 48 VCU. The A10 is strong at the top and Mason won't go undefeated in the conference, but I don't see today as the day they lose. At No. 70, GW is a formidable opponent, but they have yet to show they can beat a Top 100 team on the road. Mason has won four straight in this series and they are 9-1 SU/7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games. This should be a fantastic game to watch and I like the Patriots to win this one by five or six points.
