The Golden State Warriors defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 130-102, at Smoothie King Center on Monday night.

The game between the two Western Conference rivals was ultimately a tale of two halves, with the two teams trading blows throughout the first pair of quarters. The Warriors (3-1) went into intermission with a slim two-point lead, but their 39-21 advantage in the third quarter set the tone for a comfortable victory. Golden State shot 52.0 percent overall and enjoyed a massive 64-39 rebounding edge over the Pelicans (2-1).

Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 42 points, adding five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Marcus Moody, Trayce Jackson-Davis and Chris Paul scored 13 points apiece, with Paul adding six rebounds, five assists and two steals. Gary Payton supplied 10 points, four boards, one assist, one steal and one block.

CJ McCollum and Zion Williamson co-led the Pelicans with 19 points while adding six and five rebounds, respectively. McCollum also dished out five assists. Jordan Hawkins registered 14 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. Matt Ryan poured in 12 points, Jonas Valanciunas turned in 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Kira Lewis matched Valanciunas' scoring and added two assists and one rebound.

The Warriors return home to host the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday night, while the Pelicans visit the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.
