2025 Fantasy Outlook
Not only did Williams win his first title in 2024-25, but he was also selected to his first All-Star Game while receiving All-NBA Third-Team and All-Defensive Second-Team honors. He also got a handful of votes for the Most Improved Player award. The accolades were well deserved, as Williams has steadily improved across the board in each season. His efficiency regressed in Year 3, but he made up for it with volume. Johnson also appeared in a career-low 69 regular-season games after missing only 18 such contests through his first two seasons. He underwent offseason wrist surgery to address an injury that bothered him throughout the playoffs. He was expected to be healthy for training camp, but he sat out the entire preseason and stated during the Thunder's Media Day that he wasn't close to returning yet. The issue didn't stop the Thunder from signing Williams to a long-term extension this offseason, along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, as they locked down their core for years to come. Coming off a championship and surgery, there are fair concerns about what Williams' workload will look like in Year 4. However, the 24-year-old wing has been a top-50 player in eight-category leagues in each of his first three seasons and has second-round upside when operating at 100 percent. Read Past Outlooks
Strikes for 25 in Sunday's win
Williams ended with 25 points (11-19 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals over 25 minutes during Sunday's 131-101 victory over Utah.
ANALYSIS
The fourth-year forward tied Chet Holmgren for the team lead in scoring, as Williams set a new season high in points. He didn't make his 2025-26 debut until Nov. 28 after recovering from offseason wrist surgery, but in five games since getting back on the court, Williams has averaged 17.8 points, 6.4 assists, 5.2 boards, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks. Sunday's performance is a good sign that he may have shaken the rust off his shooting form.

2022
After a strong rookie season, Williams took another step forward in Year 2. He boosted his three-point percentage from 35.6 to 42.7, helping him average a career-high 19.1 points per game. The 2022 No. 12 overall pick also increased his assists per game from 3.3 to 4.5. The biggest knock on Williams' game is his lack of rebounds, but that can easily be overlooked given he's above-average to elite in basically every other category. Williams, along with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, have solidified the Thunder as a contender in the Western Conference, and the young trio still has plenty of room to grow. Oklahoma City solidified its depth by adding Isaiah Hartenstein and Alex Caruso, but neither offseason addition is expected to impact Williams' usage. Williams operating as a point-forward for one of the best teams in the league bodes well for his fantasy value, but Gilgeous-Alexander is still the go-to guy in crunch time. If Williams takes another step forward, it wouldn't be surprising to see him return second-round value, but he's a safer pick in the third or fourth round of fantasy drafts.

Daigneault provides update
Thunder coach Mark Daigneault provided an update on Williams' recovery from offseason wrist surgery on Wednesday, Justin Martinez of The Oklahoman reports.
ANALYSIS
"Day-to-day, and he's doing a great job," Daigneault said. "There's so much invisible work that goes into a return to play that you guys don't get the opportunity to see and we don't even get the opportunity to see." While there's still no official timetable for Williams to return, he was spotted getting up some jumpers Wednesday, and it certainly sounds like a return is on the horizon after weeks of no updates on his progress.
