76ers Mount Comeback To Defeat Hornets
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Charlotte Hornets, 121-114, at Wells Fargo Center on Friday.

The 76ers (34-25) enjoyed a solid start and didn’t have problems to defeat the Hornets (15-45) in front of their fans. Philadelphia quickly established its terms and raced to a 32-27 lead in the first quarter, but the Hornets responded and grabbed the lead at the break following a 36-26 score in the second quarter. Philadelphia had to fight back in the second half and restored its advantage following a 30-21 score in the third quarter, but unlike the first half, the 76ers wouldn’t look back the rest of the way. A 33-30 score in the final 12 minutes allowed the 76ers to close out the victory in front of their fans.

Tyrese Maxey was the leading scorer for the 76ers in this win and posted 33 points, six rebounds and five assists. Tobias Harris snapped his bad streak of games and ended with 31 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Kyle Lowry notched a double-double of 15 points and 10 assists, and he also added six rebounds. Buddy Hield ended with 13 points, and Paul Reed added 11 points off the bench. The 76ers shot 47.9 percent from the field and 43.2 percent from three-point range.

Miles Bridges was the leading scorer for the Hornets with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Cody Martin notched 12 points, four rebounds and two assists. Nick Richards delivered 19 points and four rebounds. Davis Bertans had 14 points and two assists. Grant Williams finished with 13 points, six rebounds and two assists. Vasilije Micic also delivered 13 points. The Hornets shot 51.2 percent from the field and 42.4 percent from three-point range.
