The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Utah Jazz, 123-118, at FedEx Forum on Sunday evening.

The Grizzlies (26-13) learned prior to tip-off that their quest for a sixth straight win would have to be carried out without Ja Morant, who was a late scratch with thigh soreness. However, Memphis appeared to be largely undeterred, overcoming a slim one-point first-quarter deficit to build a 14-point halftime advantage courtesy of a 43-point second period. Utah managed to knock six points from its deficit in the third, and although Will Hardy's club got as close as four and hung around with a seven-point range for a large portion of the final period, the hosts had enough for the victory.

Lauri Markkanen led the Jazz with 21 points, supplementing them with eight rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Kelly Olynyk delivered 19 points, eight boards and five assists. Jordan Clarkson furnished 17 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals across 28 minutes before getting ejected for a flagrant-2 foul. Malik Beasley supplied 15 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals. Jarred Vanderbilt produced 12 points, eight boards and four assists. Nickeil Alexander-Walker tallied 11 points, four assists, two rebounds, two steals and one block. Walker Kessler posted a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double that also included one assist and six blocks.

Desmond Bane paced the Grizzlies with 24 points, complementing them with nine assists, six rebounds, two steals and one block. Tyus Jones delivered 21 points, six assists, two rebounds and four steals. Jaren Jackson furnished 19 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and three steals. Dillon Brooks provided 15 points, three rebounds and two assists. Santi Aldama collected 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and one block.

The Jazz return home to host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night, while the Grizzlies remain home and host the San Antonio Spurs on Monday night.
