76ers Use Strong Start To Defeat Pistons
The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Detroit Pistons, 123-111, at Little Caesars Arena on Sunday.

The 76ers (24-15) enjoyed a strong start and never looked back in this game against the Pistons (11-32), and even though Detroit showed glimpses of life in the second half, ultimately it was not enough to mount a potential comeback and Philadelphia didn’t have problems to secure the win. The 76ers quickly established dominance and raced out to a 35-27 score in the first quarter, and they’d bolster that lead even further following a 36-27 score in the second 12 minutes of action, meaning they were up by 17 points at the break. A 29-28 advantage in the third quarter allowed Philadelphia to extend that advantage even further, and it seemed the final 12 minutes were almost unnecessary given how the game unfolded. Detroit won the fourth quarter by a 29-23 score, but they couldn’t do more and the Sixers raced out to victory. With the win, the Sixers moved to 8-9 on the road and the Pistons fell to 5-14 at home.

Tyrese Maxey scored 23 points for the Sixers, while James Harden posted a triple-double of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Montrezl Harrell started over Joel Embiid and finished with 20 points and six rebounds, and Tobias Harris added 12 points with five boards and two blocks. Paul Reed had 16 points off the bench and Georges Niang added 14 as well.

Killian Hayes led the way for the Pistons with a game-high 26 points, while Isaiah Stewart and Bojan Bogdanovic produced matching 20-point tallies. Stewart also had 13 rebounds and two assists, while Bogdanovic pulled down two boards and dished out five dimes. Jaden Ivey notched 10 points, six rebounds and six assists, while both Hamidou Diallo and Alec Burks chipped in with 12 points off the bench each.
