Thunder Hold Off Mavs For Second Straight Win
The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the visiting Dallas Mavericks, 120-109, at Paycom Center on Sunday evening.

The game got out to a competitive start as the Mavericks led, 34-33, after one quarter. The hosts took over in the second and outscored the Mavs by 15 points, to take a 14-point lead into the break. Both sides came out strong in the third and the Mavs managed to trim one point off the deficit, making it a 13-point game heading into the final frame. The Thunder kept their focus in the fourth and held on to secure their second straight win.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 33 points, five rebounds, five assists, two blocks and a steal, in 36 minutes. Luguentz Dort followed up with 18 points, five rebounds and a steal, while Kenrich Williams added 14 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal. The Thunder shot 48.9 percent from the field, including 12-of-28 from deep.

Meanwhile, Christian Wood led the Mavericks with 27 points, 16 rebounds and two assists, in 39 minutes. Spencer Dinwiddie followed up with 21 points, three rebounds, eight assists and a steal, while Tim Hardaway added 19 points, five rebounds and two assists. The Mavs shot 42.5 percent from the field, including 14-of-39 from long range.

The Mavs (23-18) will look to bounce back as they face the Clippers in Los Angeles on Tuesday. The Thunder (18-22) take on the Heat in Miami on Tuesday.
