Yahoo DFS Baseball: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Baseball series.

Saturday's main MLB slate features 10 games after 7:05 PM Eastern time. Below, you'll find which individual pitchers and hitters are primed to provide the best value, as well as the top lineup stacking options in this slate.

Pitching Overview

There aren't any obvious go-to pitchers in action here, with Patrick Corbin ($53) and Rich Hill ($49) representing the two most expensive options. Still, there are some enticing values to be found in lower price ranges.

Right-hander Chris Bassitt ($37) has dazzled with a 16:4 K:BB and one run allowed over 12 innings in his first two starts, and he'll look to keep rolling when his A's pay a visit to Pittsburgh.

Owners willing to take on a bit more risk should consider Rangers righty Lance Lynn ($34) and White Sox lefty Manny Banuelos ($32) against the Blue Jays and Red Sox, respectively. Lynn has four strong starts and one dud over his past five heading into this meeting with Toronto's 23rd-ranked offense. Meanwhile, Banuelos has allowed just three runs in his last 16 innings and should be more stretched out in his third start after opening the year in the bullpen.

Value Plays/Chalk

As one of the few righties in the Dodgers' lefty-laden lineup, third baseman Justin Turner ($14) is relied upon to mash against left-handed pitching. While he's off to an uncharacteristically slow start in that split, Turner's .433 wOBA against lefties in 2018 and .484 mark in 2017 suggest he's due for a turnaround, which could begin against Padres southpaw Joey Lucchesi.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($10) hasn't been as impactful as Blue Jays fans were hoping for in his first handful of games, but the star prospect has an immense ceiling relative to his $10 valuation against Lynn in Globe Life Park. The Arlington-based venue has a 1.13 park factor this season after leading the league at 1.35 last year.

Catcher James McCann's ($16) hot start with the White Sox includes a wOBA over .500 against lefties heading into this home matchup against Boston's Eduardo Rodriguez. Mike Trout ($25) should be a popular pick as usual against Astros lefty Wade Miley.

Stacks

Astros vs. Trevor Cahill (Angels)

Alex Bregman (3B - $19), Michael Brantley (OF - $17), George Springer (OF - $21)

In a game that will be played in Monterrey, Mexico, the Astros are primed to beat up on Cahill, who has surrendered 13 earned runs over 12.1 innings in his past three starts and nine home runs over 30.1 frames overall. Righty-on-righty matchups haven't been kind to Jose Altuve ($17), whose wOBA in that split is barely above .300, so it makes more sense to grab some of his teammates. Bregman has been the opposite of Altuve, crushing righties with a wOBA around .400 while struggling against lefties. Brantley has the platoon advantage as a left-handed batter, and Springer has hit pretty much everyone hard this season, especially outside of Minute Maid Park.

Diamondbacks vs. Kyle Freeland (Rockies)

Christian Walker (1B - $20), Ketel Marte (OF - $21), Adam Jones (OF - $18)

All three of Walker, Marte and Jones have produced a wOBA over .400 on the road against lefties this season. What better place to continue that road success than hitter-friendly Coors Field?

Giants vs. Tanner Roark (Reds)

Brandon Belt (1B - $15), Joe Panik (2B - $7), Brandon Crawford (SS - $7)

There are plenty of more potent lineups out there, but San Francisco's offers some nice low-cost options here for owners with their eye on expensive players elsewhere. This group of left-handed sluggers should thrive against Roark, who has surrendered a whopping .522 wOBA to the 54 left-handed batters he's faced this season. Belt's wOBA against righties is over .400, Panik has struggled this season but continues to lead off for the Giants, and Crawford is a sneaky source of power at the shortstop position after averaging over 15 home runs per year from 2015-18.
