Yahoo DFS Baseball: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Baseball series.

PITCHER

Stephen Strasburg, WAS at NYM ($56): Strasburg has been extremely effective since his return from the DL last month and there's no reason to think the Mets will slow him down. He has recorded at least seven strikeouts and allowed only three total runs in six starts since his return. The Mets season-long numbers are decent against righties, but they've lost much of their firepower and Strasburg has to worry about only a couple hitters in that lineup.

Ervin Santana, MN at DET ($45): My second pick came down to Santana and Carlos Carrasco, and while I can't fault anyone for taking Carrasco, I like Santana's spot more. He has a solid matchup, as the Tigers have been punchless since trading Justin Upton, and while he hasn't recorded a lot of strikeouts recently, the Tigers have been striking out at a high rate.

CATCHER

Chris Iannetta, AZ vs. MIA ($13): Iannetta was a pretty easy pick on Friday's slate and he came through big time. He's in the same spot Saturday against lefty Dillon Peters, who has a 5.40 ERA after allowing eight runs in his last start. A big part of Iannetta's value is his place in a dangerous lineup; he hit fifth Friday and if he's there again, his value will increase.

FIRST BASE

Eric Hosmer, KC at CHW ($22): Opposing starter Dylan Covey has been a great stacking target this season, and he comes in with an 8.18 ERA. The Royals have struggled at the plate, but they've got a handful of guys who can beat up on bad pitching and Hosmer in one of them, as we see with his .404 wOBA against righties this year.

SECOND BASE

Cory Spangenberg, SD vs. COL ($7): You need to find some low-priced talent with upside and considering the matchup with Chad Bettis, Spangenberg could be your guy. Bettis' story is well documented and he deserves a ton of credit for fighting his way back to the majors, but since his second start back, he's been a different pitcher as evidenced by his 6.23 ERA. Meanwhile, Spangenberg enters with a .350 wOBA against righties this season, which leads the Padres.

THIRD BASE

Mike Moustakas, KC at CHW ($13): Moustakas is the second and last Royal I'm listing, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't find more to put into your lineup. Whit Merrifield deserves consideration as well, but his price is much higher than Moustakas, whose .359 wOBA against righties this season is second-highest on the team.

SHORTSTOP

Trea Turner, WAS vs. NYM ($26):Noah Syndergaard is scheduled to start for the Mets, but he's only slated to pitch one inning, so Turner will only face him once. After that, it's Matt Harvey's turn and we all know how Harvey has looked since his return from the DL. Turner has been highly productive when healthy this season and the bulk of his production has come against righties (.358 wOBA against them).

OUTFIELD

Aaron Judge, NYY at TOR ($23): Judge's slump is well documented, but he's back to the guy we saw during the first half of the season. He enters with a team-high .420 wOBA against righties this season (seventh-best in the majors) and now faces Joe Biagini, who has been very inconsistent this year and has a 5.33 ERA.

Corey Dickerson, TB at BAL ($15): Dickerson went through a big slump recently, but he's hit well in three of his past four games and has a favorable matchup against Jeremy Hellickson. The Orioles starter enters with a 5.24 ERA after allowing at least six runs in two of his past five starts, and while Dickerson has actually been better against lefties this season, he has a respectable .331 wOBA against righties.

Dexter Fowler, STL at PIT ($21): Fowler, who has a .376 wOBA against righties this year, is so hot right now that I would probably take him against any righty not named Corey Kluber. Luckily, he'll face Gerrit Cole, who has a 4.13 ERA after allowing nine runs in his last 11 innings.
